I'm pretty pleased with how this turned out. I did like zero prep work on it because honestly I just wanted to see what it would look like, knowing that plasti-dip comes right off. I'm a fan!

I scrambled last night between kids' play dates and dinner and homework, but I got the SV back together and ready for the commute to work this morning. That weatherman had better be right about the sunny and 60deg today!

I de-winterized it and rode it. Feels good to be back on it!

Mounted and balanced new PR3s ad installed new brake pads.

Re: Evo2 battery - I appreciate how small it is especially after having "modified" the battery box. Conveniently the foam it was secured in made a great holster of sorts since it's so much smaller than the Yuasa.

installed my new battery......at least is cheap and she started right away.......tomorrow i do some real grunts instead of my vroom xD

Pulled into Subway parking spot - stopped - Put right foot down so I could lower the kick stand with the left - right foot set on loose pee gravel (left by the construction truck that was leaving as I was entering) right foot keeps going to the right - *&%$#@ - hit the cut off to kill the motor (on the way down) - broken right turn signal :sbmfacepalm:
Picked up the bike - got my Subway samich and went home :(

I did this:

... to make way for this (among several other upgrades):

I've never had the bike torn down this far, so I'm a little worried, but it sure is fun.

Umm, You got a little carried away there didnt you... I might be wrong, but I'm not sure the tank, rear wheel, seats, or rear panels need to come off to fit a new set of forks... Again, I could be wrong. :p

Ha, definitely correct... that's why I went back and edited to add:

She's getting painted and otherwise freshened up too.

Installed my clutch lever to replace the broken one (and yes, I lubed the pivot surfaces), and cleaned & lubed the chain. Having a chain brush makes that a ton easier :D. Also have a set of Motosliders on order (too little too late, it'll probably never get laid down again... and here I got jinxing myself...). Cheap insurance, just didn't have the cash earlier. It hasn't been ridden since the issue last weekend, but things are looking good. I may take it around the block a couple times tomorrow morning before work just to get it out of my system LOL

I found the rattle that's been driving me crazy :dizzy: for the last 8 or 9 months! The top screw on the left radiator cover was loose. I saw that the screw head was not flush with the cover, so I tightened that stinker up.

No more rattle!! :D

Thought the knocking was my chain so I tightened it... Then the knocking went from just first and second to constant at any road speed.

I timed the knocks, did some math, and it's almost dead on the same rate as the chain rotation... Guess I've got a bad link so it's down for the count until the stand comes today and chain/sprockets come Tuesday. Makes sense because it was disgusting when I bought the bike and got him to drop the $200 it would take for a new kit... Had the rest of the maintenance documented and right on time, why they ignored the chain, I don't know.

Did you measure the slack first?
