Started making a list of preseason maintenance that needs to be done. Figure I've got an afternoon's worth of work to do before I take it to the track again in April.

pics from last night.

this is how it sort of started:

just one head. theres the old and new head sitting on the table. i broke an exhaust bolt in the head. then drilled it, then broke an extractor in it. at that point theres no fixing it on the bike, and it was bothering me. so i waited until i found a good deal on a head. bought it, doctored it up, and now im replacing it. while everythings off, im modifying the turn signal harness in the fairing, changin fork oil, installing a steering damper, and adjusting the valves on the rear head, and eventually, the front head when it goes back together.

Bike died again, figured it was still water in the tank. Pulled the carbs, and yup, water in 'em. Drained as much gas from the tank as would come out, then pulled it off the bike and removed the spigot. Drained another cup of gas and some water mixed in. Tank is now sitting with a space heater on it ensure it's dry before I mount it back up tonight and put gas back in.

Waiting on a new top triple that will allow me to use my naked bar again. I hate these clip ons.

Love them carbs =P Can't wait to get rid of the wife SECA so i never have to deal with them again!

Finally got it off the stands!! I had a bunch of parts powder coated. What once was silver now is black! Just need to get my rearsets and license plate bracket on.

I am happy. :)

This is another "for" as opposed to "to" post. I added a chock of sorts to my trailer, and a narrower piece of rail to better center and hold the front wheel.

I didn't completely ignore the bike. While I had the wheel off, I took the brake disks off and sanded them in preparation for new pads and my new to me R6 radial MC.

Packed up the fairing to ship, removed the tank, drained the gas, and promptly dropped a piece of tubing in the tank trying to drain the last bit.

D'oh!

took the cams out of the rear cylinder to start my valve adjustment on the rear cylinder. also checked the clearances for the new head with the cams torqued in.

reassembly is soooo close.

Nice improvement, those things should be black from the factory IMO. They started doing the forks in black but the other part should be too.
