Just thought this would be a cool new topic. If there is already one in existence please let me know so I can delete this one, or a mod can do it. As for me I finished my under tail project and rode the crap out of it.

Big to-do list day today on my new (to me) 2007 650S:

Re-upholstered the seats (they were absolutely ratty and brittle, covered in duct tape).
Installed a Batter Tender plug-in
Changed the spark plugs
Bled the brakes
Cleaned and re-oiled the K&N intake filter
Set tire pressures to 33/36
Lubricated locks, cables, pegs, etc.

All that's left is an oil+filter change and clean/lube the chain, and all the basic maintenance is done.:eek:ccasion14:

Installed a "dashcam" with a front/rear camera view. Finally, a set-and-forget-it setup, as it automatically starts recording when the bike turns on, and automatically stops 10 seconds after the bike is turned off. And no worry about theft as the cameras are pretty inconspicuous and stealth.

Now hopefully I'll never have to resort to it for insurance purposes. =]

Yesterday, but...

On my way to meet a business partner for a trip to San Fran I picked up a puncture. AAA picked me up and got me to a cool little moto tire shop (mostly H-D) that was kind enough to patch it for me for free, and I was on my way again. 2 hour delay, but it all worked out.

I didn' see what might have punctured it, but the hole was "screw-sized." Feeling the bike get wiggly like that was a new experience... But I could tell something was wrong. All of about 2 miles, and the tire was half-flat and going down when I stopped on the shoulder. And by then it was REALLY wiggly...

Hi all, new member here. Today I renovated my Gladius seat. Pulled the staples holding front half of seat cover off, gently peeled it back. This exposed the foam, which I folded back from the front. I then cut an old closed cell foam hikers matress (about 12mm or 1/2 inch thick) to fit the seat profile. I put the new piece to start at the end of the passenger section.
I did 2 longways cuts to allow the center of the new foam to go down into the recess in the middle of the seat. I cut the side edges on an angle with sissors to better blend with exsisting foam. I then pulled the old foam down on top of the new piece, then pulled the cover back over and restapled into position. My staples are longer than the originals and a couple near the front needed their ends pushed down so as not to come through the cover. The cover went back into it's old position with no trouble.
I have done this to other bike seats in years gone by and it has proved to be much more comfortable. I did do an upholstery course many years ago, but any handy person should be able to do this.

Hard to say, but I put a set of BikeMaster Daytona bars on mine with a bit more rise and the lines reached. I needed to adjust the mount on the lower triple to get some slack, but no problems.

You could find the spec for the Daytona bars and compare, but that's all I can think of for a reference.
