Mounted a new rear tire. Added an angled valve stem from Kurvey Girl. I used some Cates tire mounting lube, the stuff works great.

I kept the tire in the house until the moment I was going to mount it. The temp in the garage was 38F. I took the old tire off last night, when it was cold, and it was really tough to deal with. Mounting the new one was soooo much easier than removing the old one!

Old tire was a Shinko 011 Verge, same for the new one. I ran 36 PSI in the previous rear tire and got 5000 miles; I increased the pressure on the one I just took off to 39 PSI and got 6300 miles. For me, that's great mileage for a rear tire. The most miles I've gotten out of a rear tire is 6800; that was a Michelin Pilot Road 2. I like the Shinko just as much as the Michelin, but it costs about 30% less.

New rubber; it's a good thing.

Looked at my bike and thought "I should ride you."

Yes, and possibly. Haven't decided on the second answer yet.

I've got a test piece drying right now. How well that turns out determines what I do.

I bought the bike this summer and it needed a major cleaning anyways. I had to use a screwdriver to get the crud out from under the sprocket cover. Nasty stuff. Lots of silver stuff is black from grime/grease.

Good luck. I don't have to say it, but I will: Keep us posted! ;D

Got off my Ship, drove my jeep to my SV, put her license plates on with salvaged bolts... and my jeep promptly starting having an idling issue... I think my jeep knows im cheating on her....

had a friend put a tire on my recently painted rear wheel, and swapped it on to replace the silver one that was on there. looks much nicer with black wheels :)

Reading this thread has made my sickness much worse. Thanks a lot guys (and gals)! The parts have been showing up like mad. The winter months are torture, and I want to ride in the worst way. The winter has put me into a buying fever. I just put on SM1 bars, motosliders, and swingarm spools. I have aftermarket turn signals and a new horn in the mail. The aztec8 dual headlights will get ordered very soon.

This is getting expensive! I hope the wife doesn't close all my bank accounts. :D

Bought 3qts of 20W50 Valvoline Full Synthetic and a Fram 6017 oil filter...maybe I'll do the work next weekend.

Removed all spiders and their webs from it. She needed a wash really bad.

My brother called me today to say he finally put his new chain on that he bought a couple months ago. It started snowing right when he finished pressing on the master link. :sbmfacepalm:

new rear wheel looks way better :)

It was oil change day for Suzi.

I had only 1500 miles on some DelVac Super 1300 15W40, but with the mid-twenties starting temps I've had and all of them coming up in the next month or two, I decided to use Rotella T6 Synthetic 5W40. It should flow a little better in the cold temps. Suzuki says 15W40 is good to 14*F, but ehh, what the heck.

I've got a Bales Adapter and have been using a Pure One PL14610, but read that a PL14459 would fit. I use the PL14459 on my Accord, so I already had some in the garage. It fits and doesn't leak.

Now if it won't get below 26* tonight, I'm all set to ride to work. That's been my cutoff temp; anything lower is just too miserable. It was 23* this morning.
