yeah, but it had over 104,000 miles on it and was starting to consume oil (though ran fine, if a bit tired)

I got a great deal, and <9000 miles on it.

Started a full TB service but i messed up a french cheese bolt, an old hose and i stopped cuz im taking the inyectors for an inspect tomorrow. Found one dirt

I put her up on f&r stands to give the tires a break. I've been scraping ice off of the driveway in big chunks and hoping all this mess will melt quickly. Looks like the next opportunity to ride is Friday. I'm soooooooooooo ready.

Built a motorcycle table for the garage. No more crouching down to work on the bike. Total cost = $0. I found the 2x6's out in the woods and left them in the garage for a few weeks to dry, the plywood was from a failed project, and I had the wheel chock already from a plywood insert for my truck to haul 2 bikes in the bed.

Nice table.

I got mine running, it's middle of winter here. But she's being shipped out next week to the west, so got her running and went for a short drive. Cranked right up after choke and few turns of throttle to get some fuel flowing!

Also reinstalled the license plate, someone stole it a few weeks ago? Not sure what you'd use a motorcycle plate for mid winter, but either way got a replacement last week.

Spent part of yesterday rebuilding the front master cylinder, taking off all the levers to thoroughly clean and lube them. Then today I went for a pleasant 5 hour ride to get a hamburger. ;) yummy. Then I cleaned and lubed the chain after I got back and cleared some of the collateral damage (i.e. dead bugs) off the headlamp and my helmet.

Picked up a like new NC F16 windscreen in light smoke off ebay for cheap. Installed it on the headlight bracket but it seemed to vibrate and move around a lot. Drilled holes in the front, added a couple of slightly bent strap brackets and voila! Nice and stable at 80mph! Doesn't detract from the naked look and makes winter riding more enjoyable.

Replaced the mirrors with some e-bay foldable ones similar to the MotoElites (I'd have liked to pick up a set of the MEs, but $25 is a ton less than $100...).

What was on there:

These are SO much easier to adjust, and about 1/2" bigger in diameter. Visibility is much improved just in my garage lol. Haven't ridden since the swap, sadly. I will say that the outgoing mirrors had WAY better installation hardware (rubber expanding plug) than the new ones (expanding metal ring things...). So much easier, so I just swapped the hardware around and called it good. These seem to have all the selling points of the ME ones (well, without any real customer service, but for 25% of the cost there's bound to be a catch).

I should be able to ride in to work tomorrow, so I'll post my impressions then.

I've been rockin those same mirrors for a year now and love em. When I crashed in April the glass broke out on the side that went down. I stuck a 3" fisheye mirror from autozone so I would have something for the 600 mile trip back home. I ended up leaving it on because it works pretty well but I will end up getting some CRGs one of these days

Took off my forks and installed a pair of Ricoh Intiminators. Hardest part was cutting the spacers. I'm only a hack at bike wrenching but I have a lot of tools and other mechanical experience. I thought I was just gonna whip out my copper plumbing cutter but it was just a little too small and made the spacer slightly oval enough to want to spiral. (If you've done a lot of copper sweating you will know what I mean.) Fussed with a horizontal band saw for a bit trying to get the little sucker to stay square to the blade and dressed it up on the belt sander. All good, just took longer than expected.
Wish I could get out and ride to try them out but now its dark and rainy.

Curious to see how these turned out. For the money the certainly look good...hopefully functionality matches the looks.
I like 'em a lot. Ran a couple errands this morning then rode in to work. Had to make a couple adjustments as expected, but the nice thing was I *could* make those adjustments (which with the old garbage I couldn't on the fly). I'm a fan so far. Also: REALLY good visibility.

It stopped dumping long enough for me to get out for a short ride with the Intiminators. First thing I noticed was no clattering coming from my aftermarket fairing as I started out on the dirt road I live on. No clack as I hit the speed bumps going to the country market. The stock suspension is weird. Soft and harsh at the same time. It unnerved me. I'm 145lbs in gear so I didn't think I needed springs or anything. Bike feels much more "right" now.

so that exhaust bracket of mine, yeah thats gone.

apparently one of the other guys at work decided it was scrap metal so he threw it out. of course i was too busy to realize that unti AFTER the metal was taken. :angry5:

I think homeboy owes you an exhaust bracket.

Well not to, but for the SV (and Mattman912's SV come march 23rd):

Hooked up the ol' 200$ 5x8 trailer with a new floor and HF wheel chocks that were on sale for 25$ a piece
