Just thought this would be a cool new topic. If there is already one in existence please let me know so I can delete this one, or a mod can do it. As for me I finished my under tail project and rode the crap out of it.

Put on a brake levers, stock flyscreen, and redid all the signals, so it can be ridden a little. Parked it on the street with a 4 sale sign.

In the process of track fairing repair. bottom rear screw had come out allowing the bellypan to shift over while at lean. Heard a scraping, but thought it was just rubbing at the front tire. Got off the track and found this:

Took a fiber duct cover, cut it down, taped it on one side and then used a heat gun to melt it to the curves of the bodywork. Used some wax paper on the indie of the cover between it and the bodywork to act as a release agent of the fiberglass epoxy.

Only on my part - they sell lots of them all over the world. They gave me a set a while back when I was first going to work in their booth with them at the Long Beach show, but I already had a Sena attached to my helmet. Since it's a new lid, I figured I'd give it a try.

So far, I have to say it's a decent unit. Sound quality is on par with the Sena 10R, speakers are the same size as the Sena, it functions well via bluetooth although I've only used it the one day and didn't make any calls with it. I tested whether it would link with the Sena "Universal Pairing" mode, and it does.

For the price, it's an incredible deal... http://a.co/6S4GXaB $49.

Knitpicks would be:
* Fixed boom mic as only option - although it tucks easily under, it's a boom, so it's much more prominent than a button mic
* The bulk definitely creates more wind noise than the 10R, but that's the very slim model with remote battery, so... No idea what the regular self-contained Sena units are like for wind.

I'm having a JHS racing motor imported from UK to me in California. It was raced at the Isle of Man last year. It was refurbished for me and includes a PC w mapping, GP case savers and hi cap. oil cooler. I was going to buy a used motor here, but this one became available. If anyone can make me an offer $$$ that talks me out of putting in my bike, have at it.

Installed mirrors (see what came in the mail) and adjusted the rear brake light switch. Forgot to after putting on a new lever earlier this week, noticed that it wasn't triggering last night on the way home while stopped at a light.

Busy weekend this past weekend... I was getting a bad case of Parked Motorcycle Syndrome after a bout of winter weather finally faded away. And just so happened to have BOTH Saturday and Sunday obligation-free.

Took off all of the fairings and did a /deep/ clean of the bike. Got all of the dust out of... everywhere. Placed I didn't even know exist. Engine degreased. Headlights polished. Brakes clean. Everything external to the engine.

I had a few cracks around the turn signal stalks from, I assume, vibration stress over 15 years. Pretty small but I didn't want them to get worse: they got a dose of ABS cement. Never used the stuff, was on the way to getting high out of my mind before moving onto the patio :dizzy: Strong-smelling stuff. I think the stalk-vibration might be a reason to get flush signals in the near future.

While it was off, I installed some grip heaters (Heat Demons). Amazing. I don't know how I ever lived without them. Having the fairings completely off meant I could really wire everything easily. I did the air-compressor trick to get them on; worked perfect.

Put on some ProGrip 719s over that. Love the squishy feel.

Checked my valves while I was in there. Everything still in spec, at about 27,000 miles!

Don't tell anyone serious, but I put on a 10-piece LED underglow kit, too. It was cheap and I figured why not; I already set up a keyed distributor block under the seat. I think it looks pretty cool in a stupid way.

Chain cleaned and lubed! It was well lubed for winter, but collected some dust. I've got a new one that needs to go on 'eventually', but I think I'll wait for the winter to end (re: wait for salt to go away) before putting on the new one. It's not urgent, but I'm planning a long trip over the summer and need the extra peace of mind.

Just need to change the oil and probably flush the brake fluid...

...I've also got a set of cheapo AUX lights I thought I'd play with. Just haven't figured out a way to mount them on a curvy.

Went for a ride Sunday night, finally... Everything feels great!

I swapped ECU's..took out the E-33 and put in the 49 State version which seems to have a bit more agressive ignition curve but I can't prove it. When tuned the same it pulls a bit sharper at light throttle but I haven't been able to ride it with the current settings as of yet.

The E-33 was set with TEKA: Idle..-10, 10%..-20, 25%..-30, 50%..-20, and 75-100 left at 'O'. The 49 State is set: Idle..-12, 10%..-25, 25%..-25, 50%..-10, with 75-100 left at '0'. These settings work well with the fuel pressure held to 44 psi, and before I added an external regulator the high-performance fuel pump in the tank would put out more than the stock regulator could control and it would idle about 55-58 and wouldn't come down until over half throttle. The SV does NOT need a killer fuel pump!!

So the potential now is for a bit better mileage at cruise and hopefully a bit more power through the rev range. Spring will be here soon enough to test it..I hope.:)

OK, now I might need to install the set I've got...

Note: You can likely get away with riding with any color except blue or red...

CHP officer said they really only care about blue, but I've heard that other departments frown on red also...

Blue is a no-go for sure...
Red is weird. Depending on where you are, red should only be visible from the rear of the vehicle. Same for white only being on the front. Amber is (theoretically) the only color allowed 360.

Some states (e.g. Colorado) even restrict green lights to certain ranking first responders.

Know your laws! For me? It was more of a 'gits and shiggles' thing. Cheap set, spare time. Show off to a friend or two, take a few pictures. Maaaybe if it's really dark and I need the extra visibility, I'd click onto amber-ish orange or white.

In Texas, legally you are only allowed to have white or amber, and they must be solid, not blinking. However, the only time I have heard of it being enforced is when someone was stopped for something else and the rider was being rude or had been stopped for stunting or horribly excessive speed.

Well, until I can buy the BMW, then...

Finances are starting to improve a little, and the outlook is good, once I get school out of the way and have more time to spend on Freelance. And really hoping that freelance turns into a good full time gig with the client.
