Solid point, but how many malicious alcoholics wander the streets with pockets full of BBs?
Same ammount of alcoholic giants that can actually stand in front of a SV and pee inside the tank. (Or regular sized alcoholics that carry a ladder, for that matter).

Found a crack in my faring that I didn't notice after the spill. Drilled and epoxied. Got my extra passenger seat to mount properly (had some issues) and noticed that the previous owner was not as much of a b.s-er as I thought

He claimed that he raised the faring to make the N handlebars work with the faring. but he said it in a way that made it seem less than truthful, but sure enough he did.

Now I can begin fabbing up a luggage system with that extra passenger seat.

So after getting completely tired of slipping back and forth on my seat every time I accelerated/braked, I took a large sheet of black EVA foam, cut it, and glued it onto the vinyl of the seat.

That made a HUGE difference and now I enjoy riding more than ever :D

Laid it down in the parking lot at work. D'oh! Guess I need a bit more work on that low speed stability

Didn't damage anything except my ego, and knocked a bar-end mirror loose. Easy fixes for both of those :)

Rookie mistake ftl

Take it easy man. Get yourself a bunch of small orange cones (cheap at Walmart) and take your bike to a parking lot. Practice, practice, practice. 8's, emergency braking and swerving, box turns, slalom, slow maneuvers, etc. You can never practice too much.

Have you taken the MSF course? (Edit: I see you have)

Have you adjusted the TPS on your bike?

We all make mistakes. I dropped both my bikes. Mistakes are just an opportunity to learn.

w00t! Properly re-attached and re-assembled the bar end mirror that got knocked asunder in this morning's *cough* incident. Got a little more practice in a couple parking lots at work today and at least got my confidence marginally back up at low speeds lol. Yes, practice practice practice. It's not hard, it does take some concentration though.

However, I do work late (until 7:00) so I did get to experience night time riding for the first time today. FREAKING. AWESOME! I've owned a handful of convertibles (notably a 92 Miata and an 02 S2000) and I absolutely loved driving around on a dark clear night with the top down. This? Blows all that out of the water. Loved it :D

I did have the foresight to pick up a high viz vest at cycle gear this morning (along with some chain lube for this weekend) knowing I'd be riding home in the dark most days in the winter.

It's been really, really raining here for the last two days. I wondered how long it had been since I put in an air filter. Pulled the Owner's Manual from under the seat and found out that it had been 12500 miles; they're due at 11,000. So, I put a new one in. The old one was blown out occasionally, so it didn't look bad. Thank goodness for a covered porch!

While the air box was open, I dried the foam sponge on the left side of the air box. It had a pretty good amount of water in it. This happens during the winter. Put it back together. Now I just need some decent weather so I can ride again. :D (New Years day looks good)

Oil change and put belly pan back again, was off for a month or so.

Replaced my busted speedo rotor with a new one.

How did it break? Harsh weather?
Ha! Not at all. The weather has been worryingly dry here in Utah. No snow for the last 45 days and the ski resorts are striving to stay open. Right now it's bright and sunny outside :confused1: Really strange for this time of the year. We're expecting a 52 degrees high today... go figure.

I cracked my speedo rotor a couple of months ago when I reinstalled everything after upgrading my fork springs.
