Posting here since there isn't a "What did you do to your son's bike 2 days ago" thread.

A "friend" jacked up the engine on my son's (fatpad00) bike so I had it pulled to swap it out. He asked me if I could get some stuff powdercoated, and so began the removal of a few parts:

My son is in the Navy at Great Lakes, which is why I am doing all the work so it will be ready to go when he transfers to his 1st duty station (Charleston, SC) and can have a vehicle.

Dont look at it as Tank-less, Look at it as Top-Less...

She is trying to temp you back to her. ;)
Because a bike without a tank looks soooooo sexy.

:sbmfacepalm:

I put Suzi up on track stands.

It's been icy some days and around 21 to 25 in the mornings. Not a good combination, so she's parked until the climate improves. In the PNW, there's a persistent high pressure system that is causing it to be cold and dry. Not normal at all. The ice comes from fog freezing on the road, and on the canyon I ride, mist from the river freezing on the road.

Before it got this bad, I slipped around on the ice two mornings. One day I came upon a bunch of flashing lights - cops, ambulance, etc. A pickup truck had slid on the ice and was on it's side. You can imagine the looks I got from the emergency folks. :)

Until things get better, I'm not going to risk crashing on the ice. The other side of the coin is that cars/trucks can lose control on the ice and take me out. Not cool.

So, she's up on the stands for a while.

more work on the subframe :)
