Just thought this would be a cool new topic. If there is already one in existence please let me know so I can delete this one, or a mod can do it. As for me I finished my under tail project and rode the crap out of it.

Not "to" the SV, but related.

Ordered a new pair of gloves. Seam starting to go on the old pair, at a spot that isn't very repairable. And I've been riding daily with them since Nov 2013, so it was time for a new pair.

Went with the new Scorpion SGS MkII in black, size large. These will replace my Dainese 4 stroke gloves.

Pet peeve...
It needs a tightening...
It needs to be tightened.
- or -
Tightening it is needed.

But nothing ever "needs doing" (or any verb with "ing" added, like "washing", "shoveling", or "sweeping") as in these cases "needs" indicates a future event, while "doing" is something presently, at this time, happening...

Rant over.

Today:

Fixed the headlights.

PO had installed a street fighter style dual bulb (one above the other) enclosure/mini-fairing, but never got it to aim lower than the moon. And he wired it so that only one bulb turned on at a time on for low or high beams.

These are 12V 25/25W bulbs... And the high beam fuse was blown. So no high beams and the low beam (with it's 25 watts of fury) point up at a 30 degree angle. No wonder the PO never rode at night!

Now I have both bulbs on at all times and it's aimed right.

One more step towards passing inspection...

Yesterday:

- Rode over an hour in one stretch. My ass hurt and my right fingers went numb. Got some work to do getting along with the saddle... And relaxing the death grip... 180 miles of riding under my belt now. Still a noob.

Today:

- License plate nut lights installed. I think it's legal now.
- Removed about 5' of wiring and assorted ephemera (wire nuts, useless resistors, wire loom) from under the rear cowl cleaning up the insane (yet working) wiring job the PO did on integrated tail lights.

Adjusted the idle back down to normal after having to crank it up to about 3k in order to get home last night. Got off the freeway and every time I closed the throttle it sputtered and died. Spitting and sputtering even at that RPM last night, and smelling quite rich. No codes. Checked TPS and it was set at about 2.5k RPM, so that's not it. Removed the aTRE. We will see what happens, but last time it started acting like this it was always in the evenings, never the mornings. So frustrating...
