Just thought this would be a cool new topic. If there is already one in existence please let me know so I can delete this one, or a mod can do it. As for me I finished my under tail project and rode the crap out of it.

Decided to call in sick today as my back was bothering me. Funny thing, for my problems riding is the most comfortable thing I can do... Seriously.

Anyway, decided to grab lunch at the worlds oldest McDonald's. Since I couldn't get it for the Picture Game, thought I'd share it here.

Yes...my back feels better when on the bike than just about any other time or place. That's kind of funny for many people to understand. They see you/me/us in a moderately aggressive sportbike riding position (one guy says I'm all 'hunched over') but it's really comfortable on the back. To the cruiser guys, if you're not leaning back at 30 degrees with your toes pointing straight up...you CAN'T be comfortable!!

Wow, 1500 pages long!

Today, well, yesterday, I finally built up the courage to do a mufflerectomy.

I've been having a hard time finding an exhaust tone I like. The two brothers is decent, but I worry about it being too loud. The m4 sounds similair, but I think I prefer the two brothers, just a little more. I've heard someone get on the m4 and it's really loud.

So I took the stock can, I cut it down to 12". cut the internal baffles down, wrapped the old insulation back up, re-assembled it and put a single rivet in the bottom to hold it. All in all, it took me the better part of a day, and it's not perfect. I'm going to get some chrome door edge guard to go around the seem(it's not bad, but I know it's not 100%), it'll look like a detailed edge, and I'll call it a day.

It started to rain, so my ride was very short, but it's okay. It's louder than stock, without being raspy. Tonight, I'll grab a handful and see if I like it. This morning was 39* , the roads were still wet, and just a little too chilly to go to work.

I'll post up a recording. It's nothing fancy, and it's not the Vance & Hines I had on my Fatboy, but it'll do, for now. Best of all, all it cost was my time, a couple blood blisters, and the chrome edge guard.

Well I ended up wasting 2 days of fabrication work by getting ahold of some cheap chinese crap aluminum from menards. Fabricated my fairing stay and went to weld it together and the stuff just skinned over and melted the tubing. Last time I buy tubing from menards. Never have a problem with the metal shop here in town but I was in a pinch. Believe me, there is a difference between cheap aluminum and good stuff.....

Used to work at a Menards distribution center unloading incoming product, haven't set foot in a menards store since. If it isn't a name brand item, it is the cheapest of the cheap chinese junk. Not to mention John Menard is a crook that will do anything to make a buck, so if that aluminum was specified as 6061 it was actually probably 6031 that was rejected at the mill for it's composition being out of spec and sold to menard on the cheap.

I do that a LOT! Have been trying to will the vibration away that I felt the last couple times it was out.:( The voltmeter has been showing a weird charging episode here and there too...so I'm afraid that the magnets are spinning in the rotor. They're all JB Welded together and I'm betting they still are en-mass, but fearing the whole bunch is rotating. Oh well...got to bite the bullet and pull the cover.

dropped it off at the shop for new steering bearings as part of the GSXR front end swap. Since everything will be off anyway, they are just insrtalling the GSXR parts when they reassemble. Also doing all of the safety wiring for free since it isn't that much.

Wheelied across an intersection on Pacific Coast Highway in Long Beach, CA after two cops crossed with lights and sirens. I had to give a little show to the peoples waiting for a bus across the street.

Also discovered that an evil pothole bent my front wheel :bs:
