Rode about 2 hours. She rolled over to 17000 miles today.

Pulled the carbs to figure out why it wasn't running well. It appears that at some point I got carb cleaner or something on one of the diaphragms; it shrunk, and isn't working.

I ordered a new one for $42.

Then I got a PM today from somebody offering one for $5 shipped. Argh!

Ain't that some sh*t. Same thing happened to me, but I think it was because I left the diaphragm out of the carb for 3 months.

This weekend I put on new rear (EBC) and front (EBC HH) brake pads, cleaned the calipers and added speed bleeders on all the calipers and bled the system. Holy CRAP!!!! Speed bleeders are God's great gift to brake maintenance! They work absolutely flawlessly and makes bleeding your brakes about a 5 minute job for front AND rear. I'm going to be bleeding my brakes a lot more often because they're so easy to use and I couldn't believe how much better my levers felt with fresh fluid in them. I also finally got my TPS properly adjusted, not quite as impressed with this one, but it did smooth out the bottom end a little bit. Then I beautified her and gave the chain a nice cleaning, washed and waxed, and polished the exhaust up a little bit with some polish wadding (not extremely impressed with this, but it gave it a nice shine rather than that dull finish although the color of the pipes didn't change).

Finally, for the grand finale I took her on a good long ride out for some parade laps at the track for the first time. Lots of fun!! Coming out of the corners the SV just leaves all those I4 SBKs in the dust.

All in all the bond between the SV and I was strengthened. What a great bike!

But, in other news, my dilemma appears to be fixed. I was able to cancel the order for one and another member just boxed up two of them and sent them my way. If they work, I owe him a 6-pack of GOOD beer along with the shipping charges.

Yay!

I had the sticker custom made. hehehe My other sticker says "Life's too short to ride with ugly men" BWAHAHAHAHA!

upholstered the rear seat. i love the look of the color matched seat cowl but then i couldnt pick up the hot neighboor from work

dropped a new engine and radiator in the bike and started to part out my old one to recover some of the damage from the cost of the new vtwin.
Unless you inverted the frame, wouldn't you have to lift the new engine in? ;D

Well not yet but on the way home, the trip odo will pass 550 miles so it is time to clean and lube the chain again. Also pulling off the belly pan for repairs and new paint. Also need to get cooking on the CF headlight fairing project I've been meaning to start for the past 6 months
