Ordered one of the large cases from JCW. It fits my Givi rack without having to install the included mounting plate.

Disregard the junky garage...

Just an oil and filter change here, and I also removed the Corbin seat I had on it.

I'm now selling the seat if anybody is interested. First gen SV650. The seat is a SV-65-F. All black (including trim). No rips/tears

Nice. Make sure to perform the obligatory JCW top-trunk surgery:

- Peel off Iron Cross decal
- disassemble by removing all the tiny gold screws you can find
- Paint the "red" trim black
- When dry, reassemble with lots of blue Loctite.

A great way to spend $60-70 on the bike.

Pulled the spent chain and front sprocket off the olde sv last night along with a through cleaning of the gunk. Tonight I'll pull the rear tire, remove the rear sprocket and clean all that mess up. Then it's just a waiting game for my chain and sprockets from Blair @ Svracingparts.

Investigated the behavior of the hall effect sensor in the speedo. On my model (03 SV650S), it's powered by 12V and pulses 4 times per rev.

No problem. My latch started loosening up, so the loctite is a must.

Now I wish I had at least taken the time to scuff up the trim before painting it...it looks like poo. Still an improvement over the orange-y, pink-y, red crap, though.
