Just thought this would be a cool new topic. If there is already one in existence please let me know so I can delete this one, or a mod can do it. As for me I finished my under tail project and rode the crap out of it.

Glued my brake lever( front and back) back till I receive new lever , dropped the bike at 2mph yesterday because of my passenger , tried to do a close turn ( as I normally do alone) and she moved from her seat at the same time , steering went at the end and I wasn't able to hold the weight because my right leg is not 100% strong

Exhaust and bar end are now scratched , and both lever broke , rear is unusable but front only lost the ball at the end of the lever , still went home after ..

Replaced a dead battery (Autocraft 14-BS) with an EverStart ES12BS from Walmart...I'm hoping this battery will hold up. The Autocraft lasted a bit over 3 years.

I also bought a ReChargeiT 8 amp charger/maintainer for a good price. I didn't have to wait long for the new battery to charge (1.5 hrs).

I was going to ride today, but the bike was sputtering to the point that it was almost dangerous to ride. A cylinder kept cutting out. I looked at the front wire and found that it was completely off the plug but was apparently flailing around the plug well and making intermittent contact with the plug. Kinda weird that it came off, but I guess it vibrated off. That would be a pain in the ass to fix on the side of the road with a hot engine.

Yesterday: Re-routed some electrical wires for my cell charger and battery tender hookup. Cleaned everything under the seat & tank. Checked air filter. Adjusted throttle cable slack (Very nice having it up snug). Replaced a missing bolt on my tail light/plate bracket.

installed zx14 shock, pulled the forks and cleaned up the chrome (got mine from a buddy who lived by the ocean for awhile) and swapped to racetech 1.0s and 15w belray...wanted to paint the lowers black but i need my bike ready tomorrow so i'll just have to paint em later...cleaned and lubed the chain, popped on a smoked d-bubble screen

got this. for $750 + $100 donation to a kids charity the P.O. runs

all of it is in unknown shape. title is meh (signed but not notarized..facepalm) but it's mostly straight and has a bunch of plastics and a decent shape akrapovic full system.

this is the 3rd parts bike i've picked up in a month. running out of space in the garage... bunch of crap everywhere, tons of stuff hanging off the ceiling, and 6 whole bikes in there now (working on 2 of my friends bikes too). had to stash the sv1000 at my parents'

i just check CL every couple weeks. And have a bunch of friends with svs. it also doesn't hurt that i'm right outside a fairly large city and within a 2hr drive of huge cities.
the last two before this one were from a guy i met at an svrider meet at jbswear's and from a guy im friends with who gave up riding.

I think it's time Mad8 reassembles a bunch of those parts into a working SV... and then sell it at auction here... Bidding starts at his estimated cost + labor at $15/hr...
the real question is why? frankenbike was an exercise in crowdsourcing.
If i can pick up a GOOD 1st gen for like $1600, why do i need to dump $2k into an $800 basketcase?
I'm basically picking up the bikes that would be in a junkyard otherwise, and mostly to keep my friends' track bikes running (they crash a lot). the parts on here are just kinda to break even. it's hard to find an engine or a complete front end, but easy to find a whole crappy bike.... .
I can probably get any of them halfass running. but they'll still be pieces of crap. And i've got a track sv already.
