What did you do to your SV today? (mods, farkles, maintenance, etc)

Just thought this would be a cool new topic. If there is already one in existence please let me know so I can delete this one, or a mod can do it. As for me I finished my under tail project and rode the crap out of it.

Update: It corners like it's on rails. The performance envelope has been increased, and the margin for error...

Oh. my. god. I should have done suspension a year ago. I maybe should have put 15wt in the front (10 is a little light, front comes up really fast from braking events) but my GOD does it handle better. Big bumps, little bumps, fast bumps, slow bumps... all eaten up nicely. Heavy braking? Sure no problem, got tons of travel left for bumps. Sublime!

That's why I've said that the first three things to do on an SV:

Suspension

Suspension

I ran tubing from the hard-to-get-to vacuum connection on the front tb over to the right side of the bike. It's got a custom cap on it. The point is, to make syncing the tb's easier. All I have to do is hook up to the rear tb (easy) and pull the cap off the tubed front tb and hook it up to the vacuum gauge.

No more fiddling around with pulling silly rubber caps (with spring retainers) off the nearly impossible-to-get-to vacuum connections. Syncing will get done more often with this easy to use setup!

I'll do a thread about this mod soon.

I have been thinking about that.

I'm using the right side vacuum connection of the rear tb for the Scottoiler, but could move that to the other connection on the left side. The right side connection for the rear tb isn't too difficult to access, but it would be nice to run some tubing out a bit, so the gauge hookup would be super easy (instead of "just" easy". :icon_biggrin:

I'm not concerned about different lengths/volumes; vacuum is different than flow.

Not today but past 2 weeks,
2001 Sv650 (it was a mess)
Picked her up about 1 1/2 months ago, forks built by Traxxion, ZX6r shock, new clutch, oil changes (3) to clean it out w/ new seal and cover ( i didn't know the cover was plastic and it was warped by the PO doing some launches, hence the new clutch), new rear rotor, rebuild rear caliper with reservoir relocation, new (06) front brakes, SS lines, KG fairings (full) just arrived this morning. Waiting on 1/2" and 1" links to decide how much I want to lift the rear.
Thanks to all the members that sold me great stuff for a decent price.

I'm FINALLY tearing off the stock front end and popping an 08 1K setup on there... Of course I got skeered and decided it wasn't a good idea to punch & hammer the castle nut, so it's on pause until I get the castle nut tool from ebay mailed in... Still need a decent headlight to use on the new front though.

Pulled the M4 off yesterday to repack and re-clear the Carbon Fiber. Broke all of my 5/32 drill bits trying to tap through the rivets. They were all cheap brands evidently. I kind of like the look without a muffler on the bike! Going to **** off the neighbors tonight and let her breathe in the driveway for a few minutes.

Chop off the rear can. Install battle-scarred Scorpion Stubby can. She actually got faster because it leaned out the mixture slightly. Apparently my bike was rejetted pig-rich by the previous owner. 6th gear roll-on feels more like 5th gear now! But most importantly, my bike now sounds like Murica :vroom:
