ZX-14 rear shock installed!

Went for a rip, soooooooooo much better! Wow! Should have done this a long time ago, bike feels so much more stable entering corners.

Sonic springs next for the front. Have all parts ready to go, hopefully will have time this easter weekend.

Installed a Fastpack rear seat storage a few weeks ago, has been so helpful in running around picking up parts. The ZX-14 shock actually fit in the fastpack!

Gave in and cleaned the chain.

After 7000 miles too off the front sprocket cover... and it was ugly.

Cleaned all the gunk out, adjusted the clutch, lubed everything and went for a ride.

p.s.
Is it wrong to be all excited like a little girl about new front end and rear suspension coming in the mail soon? :D

Ordered Motosliders frame and spool sliders! I don't know how much $$$ it will cost to make them cross the border... Stupid border fees..

130US$ (CAN$ is strong, so this is nice actually)

$130? ? ? what the hell... don't you have a SV without the lower plastc?

I got mine for less than $70 shipped and that was when the Canadian dollar was worth only about 75c US.. granted I had them shipped with other things... but $130 seems a bit steep....

I ordered the combo Frame sliders and Spool sliders..

That's why it costs a bit more.

Edited the aforementioned post.

aaah.... that makes sense then.... Motosliders are worth the extra price.. since the no-namers are total crap... but I still think they are a little over priced...
I thought about making some at the shop, but I don't know the exact measurements of the sliders.

I know they are made of delrin (costly material that nobody have, unless you order a 20 feet bar...)

Easier to order them!

Question, how does the e-mail order work in term of payment? MasterCard and stuff?

Dunno I got mine from SV Racing parts with other items so it was included... shipping was easier too since it was carried cross border before shipped in Canada...

I still think motosliders are overpriced... but for the extra $20 or so it cost me to get them over the sh!t knockoffs I went for the real thing... ok it takes someone to machine them.. but still the price is too high... I ate it because there was no other choice... it was either sh!t or motosliders.. and sh!t isn't woth the headeache for $20 more.

Deralin isn't that expensive it is just harder to machine than some other plastics.. but the bolt and nuts are way better quality on the motosliders than some of the fakers.... minimal cost difference but the quality difference is HUGE

Fakers will help but they certainly aren't up to the same level as motosliders.. they are fine in a tip over but if you are moving.. motosliders are where it is at.

Yeah, did some damage on the bike last october. Wet grass and too much throttle. Front end ended up smashing asphalt, while the tail up to the tank were lucky enough to stay in grass.

Bent fairing stay
Exploded clutch lever, left side flasher and mirror
Cracked fairing with some minor scrapes

I unbent the stay (worst PITA ever), changed exploded pieces and it's fine. I don't know if frame sliders would've help..

I don't see frame sliders as an expense, but as an investment..

finally making steady progress on my S to N bar swap.

got brake lines on the other day. today i got some fresh brake fluid and bled 'em. also got the N throttle cables into the throttle bodies. put throttle bodies back into intake boots. adjusted the clutch and lubed some pivot points. put the front sprocket cover back on. got a lot done today!

Ordered Woodcraft sliders, oil, filters, and other odds and ends for the season. It's gonna be a hot one.

rewired my rear turn signals this morning, put it back together and went riding with a few friends. One of my friends, who doesn't yet own his own bike, brought his wife along for the first time. I have a very complicated relationship with her sister, who thinks motorcycles are dangerous and therefore evil, so I spent the night tonight getting chewed out on skype for being involved in her sister riding on a bike with her own husband. So yeah, fun day!
