Took a corner with a flat tire and managed to keep it shiny side up. Called a buddy and brought it home int he back of his truck and pulled the rear wheel off. Luckily I already had my Michelin PR3s here at home so now I just gotta get the rear tire mounted and put back on so I can ride into town and borrow a front stand to change the front tire.

Installed an SV tank cover, matching windscreen bolts, carbon fiber gas cap.
I didn't install the carbon fiber on the triple clamp, it was too long and too small at the dampers, they sent a 650 instead of a 1000 series.

Oh, and added some drool across the fairing. :)

Drool on the fairing? hmm hate to see what you left in the exhaust pipe

Installed new to me Kawi ZX10R rear shock. What a pain in the ass....The battery box is such a pain in the ass.

It makes you think what were the engineers and designers thinking.

... probably that people weren't going to take parts of different models and brands of bikes and try to make them work on the SV650.... or that they would use aftermarket parts which are designed to spec

Only reason I've not done the suspension yet is I don't really want to hack up the battery box

What year ZX-10 shock did you get? The 06-07 doesn't require any cutting and mine went in pretty seamless.
04' but it's ok. I have a line on another part that i will be replacing it once i get a better shock

I installed cheapo folding/adjustable length levers. Got them here. $70 delivered.

I got these levers so that I would have a spare set of levers. Now my stock levers are the spare set. I think I might get some shorties, too; they're just $40 delivered.

The ones I got (when adjusted as short as possible) are longer than the shorties by a little bit and they are shorter than the OEM levers by quite a bit. Since they are shorter and fold, they would most likely survive any low side or drop.

The quality is good. The anodizing is thick and dark. (I got black and silver, like the top one in the photo below) I measured the thickness of the part that goes inside the perches and it is exactly the same as the OEM levers. The pivot hole diameter is exactly the same. The additional slop that some people notice in these chinese levers is due to the looseness of the adjustable reach feature; the adjustable length interface is rock solid, though.

The levers installed easily. They feel fine.

insured, plated, air filter, and oil change. first ride will be tomorrow.

They really are nice, but having tried them out, I won't be extending them. The shortest length is perfect.
I don't know if you cover your brake all the time, but if you do, do they have a tendency to fold up when roll on the throttle. like if you were blipping the throttle to down shift while braking.

They've got a stiff spring to keep them from folding; if it's a problem, I'll mod them and if that doesn't work, I'll get a set of shorties. I haven't ridden with them yet, so I'll know more about them tomorrow. I've got "size 14" fingers; the levers would have to go through my fingers to fold out of the way. I don't anticipate any problems, but thanks for the heads up.

I did the Buell foot peg mod. adjusted the shift & brake levers and rear brake light switch to accommodate the lower pegs and had enough light left for a short test rise. I like it-I think I'll last longer on those long rides. Us old guys over 6' need all the help we can get!

tried to ride to work but after 6 years the battery said enough is enough.

2 days ago changed the oil and got her ready for the season. Last night I picked her up from my in-laws where it was stored for the winter. Today, I got to ride to work :) :) for the first time this season. Ahh yes!
