Just thought this would be a cool new topic. If there is already one in existence please let me know so I can delete this one, or a mod can do it. As for me I finished my under tail project and rode the crap out of it.
What did you do to your SV today? (mods, farkles, maintenance, etc)
Just thought this would be a cool new topic. If there is already one in existence please let me know so I can delete this one, or a mod can do it. As for me I finished my under tail project and rode the crap out of it.
Finished the undertray and battery bracket for the track bike and routed and secured al the tail wiring, ICU, fuse boxes, and R/R. Shaved 11 lbs off the bike with the LiPo battery and modified subframe. Filled up the oil and coolant. Waiting to fire it up until I get the new rim and tires in and the gsxr front fork installed.
I looked at her, in the garage, with all the snow that has blown in under the door. I feel bad making her stay out in the cold. But, on the good side......
my wife just gave me the ok to bring the bike inside!!!!!! I am going to put her in the basement, where I can begin doing all the routine maintenance and a cam swap!!!
Thanks for the replies. I found the bolt in my bolt bowl. When I work on the SV, I put all of the hardware into that.
The radiator cover and rearsets bolts are all there. The seat bolts and seat cover bolts are also all there. I think its an aesthetic bolt for the front headlight cowl or something.
I used to do that, but I kept ending up with extra hardware. Now, when I remove a part, the nuts and bolts that held it on go with it or back into the studs/holes they came from. It's rare for me to end up with spare hardware now.
I'm guessing it's a tank bolt or a side cover bolt and you have one of the shorter cowl/fairing bolts in its place--probably in one of the side covers.
I have checked the bolts in both the tank and seat cover areas. They look like they belong there. I have also checked the front headlight area. I'm pretty sure it's nothing too important (hoping)
I moved her backward about a foot to give the tires some relief from flat-spotting in one place. There's so much salt on the road that I'm reluctant to take her out for a ride.
Trimmed the undertray to accommodate the Penske shock reservoir hose and exhaust mount bracket. Balanced the carbs and installed new windshield bolts n rubbers. Hoping to see my gsxr rear wheel kit and head bearing show up so I can finish the bike and get out to the track.
Oh and the street bike got the morning dew wiped off and ridden today
Tried to hold it as it helplessly fell over on a very steep gravel driveway...
No dammage though, only a scuffed shift lever, but I'm pretty sure it was already like that. At least now I know my frame sliders, swing arm spools and bar ends can hold the bike on the on it's side with no pretty parts touching the ground.
I fired it up and let it run for about ten mins. After I had to use a blow dryer to thaw out the ignition switch due to this crazy weather here in Florida. Its almost 11pm and its 20 degrees and icy roads. Everyone is freaking out down here but I think its funny ...
