layed down some black plasti dip over my mirrors and mirror spacers, and the bolts/bracket on swing arm, also did my passenger pegs with black plastidip to see how it looked before i perhaps spray painted the rider pegs flat black.. am kind of 'afraid' to do it..

then decided to throw down some white plasti dip on my seat cowl to see how it looked on the bike... pics soon

 

Washed it again. Minimized the cosmetic damage from last weekend's lowside. Swapped shift rods + knuckle for less bent ones.

Changed the coolant. Think I'll change it again before winter storage. Hope to change oil tomorrow.

Just basic, boring stuff to keep riding the bike as boring as possible.

 

Rode to work to clean and lube and check/adjust the chain. Put bike on stand, cleaned chain with kerosene and looked up to see it start pouring outside.

 

finally tightened my chain. waited way too long and now I need a full sprocket and chain switchout.

i swear i'm gonna get to the TPS adjustment tomorrow. I swear.

 

I doubt waiting too long to tighten your chain killed your sprockets and chain.

 

i dunno. it was pretty bad. the difference between the tight spots and loose spots is pretty drastic.

 

I'm not doubting that your chain is toast. I'm just saying that having your chain too loose isn't what ate your chain and sprockets.

Finally put on 2.5" svrp clip ons. Of course it's not cooperating. So I ordered a new start stop switch so I can go back to naked cables, ordered new bar end mirrors because I broke one over tightening it, and a motion pro throttle tube for fun.

 

back to the topic at hand, rode it until it was almost out of gas this afternoon so I could take the tank off (going to repolish the steel a different way and try a blackener with a clearcoat over it) and not have to worry about getting all the gas out, which was a total pain last time.

 

Got my quickshifter installed this morning...ready to tune it this weekend

 

ripped off her clothes. Will be streetfightering her. Next is modifying the top yoke for renthal bars, ignition relocation, and wiring up the Trailtech vapor and mt-03 headlight

new SVRacing rearsets too! The shifter has since been adjusted

 

I corrected my odometer today. My odometer used to read about 2% high, which bugged me. After installing the speedoDRD to correct my speedometer, the odometer now reads precisely 7.26% low (after many long recorded distances). Getting cheated out of miles has been bugging me, so I figured out how many miles low my odometer was and then I set my speedoDRD to +99.9% with a 99 multiplier. As soon as I got moving, literally like 1-2mph, the speedometer read 186mph. :lmao:

I needed to add about 1850 miles to correct it. With the speedoDRd set to hyperdrive, I added on 1850 miles in 79 real miles. It was entertaining to watch the miles climb like that. As of today, my mileage is correct at 43,737. Of course, it's still 7.26% off, so I'll have to do this every so often. First world problems...

Rode for about 70miles and damn I love the sound and feel of my thou!

 

figured out that the reason the bike was so shiny was because it had a pretty bad wreck at some point and a bunch of parts were replaced. not mad though, got a great deal and it is in very nice shape currently

 

finally got around to changing the front sprocket now that the stable is back in order. i read SOOOOOO many horror stories about the threads getting galled up during removal of the nut, but it came off pretty as you please without any problems. i was able to reuse the old nut and washer as well. did a minor clutch adjustment and cleaned/lubed/adjusted the chain as well. can't wait to enjoy the fruits of my labor tomorrow .

 

I 'bricked' my SV today.. tried to update power commander firmware and ended up locking my power commander, now my bike won't start at all, and can't get the power commander to power on :| Unconnected the battery terminals leading to the PC and it still wont fire up...

 

Switched out my road 2 for my slightly used power pure since the road 2 decided to show cords after at least 11k miles of mostly hgwy commuting. Gonna be switching to a fresh set of q3's next month to get ready mfor the FL rally.

I just finished installing a new Delkevic radiator and a 1st gen fan. I got the fan for 20 bucks, so had to settle for a first gen. Awesome! My new handlenars should be here tomorrow and then the bike'll be roadworthy again!

 

Started the tear down of the track bike for a full overhaul and general clean up of its appearance. Subframe got a bit tweaked in the last crash.

 

Finished installing ZX 14 shock, TWF mod rods. Knock off emulators. .90 springs and 15 wt oil. Without even turning any knobs or thinking about fine tuning I am amazingly impressed that my bike handles again.

It rode more stable with my fiancé and me today than it did yesterday by myself. I can actually use my brakes some why aggressively without wallowing and getting punched by the rebound.
