Just thought this would be a cool new topic. If there is already one in existence please let me know so I can delete this one, or a mod can do it. As for me I finished my under tail project and rode the crap out of it.

Installed my EE subframe, finished fitting a leftover GSXR exhaust, last rivets on the "custom" battery tray I built...and starting to contemplate what I'll need for custom brackets to mount '07 GSXR bodywork

Found out that my license actually isn't suspended yet, so finished painting the fairings and put the bike back together. For now the tank is a couple shades lighter than the fairings and the front wheel is still stock color but I will take it apart and finish it completely in about 15 days. Something really weird happened, it was stripped completely down to frame/motor/forks/swing arm and I got it all back together and there is ZERO leftovers. My dad would say that something is wrong because if you take something apart there should always be leftovers after its back together.

I finished up my post-big-trip maintenance that I had been putting off.

Checked valve clearances, adjusted rear exhaust shims
Flushed and refilled coolant and replaced with Engine Ice (likely wasted money for the way I ride, but what the hell)
Changed rear tire
Synced throttle bodies
Changed front brakes and flushed front brake fluid
Cleaned and adjusted chain (first time in over 15,000 miles since installing a Scottoiler)
Cleaned air filter

She runs like a brand new bike now. I don't know whether it was syncing the throttle bodies or adjusting the valve clearances that were slightly tight, but she runs great.

Ripped off all my 2001 s plastics and metal supports for when my bkmoto universal streetfighter headlight comes in. Found out the bar end metal pieces are impossible to unscrew. So drilled off the screw head. Then found out the bars are totally solid aluminum and drilled a hole big enough for the mirrors screws. Went too big so used jb weld and they are in there quite permanently. Although they do look quite awesome and stay where you aim them.

Last night I put the TBs back on the 1000, as well as D'Ecosse's STV elimination stuff. With no STVs and a lidless airbox it makes quite a bit of noise when I open the throttle - I hear it more than the full M4.

For the first time in nearly three months I sat on my SV, started it and went for a ride.
The final parts arrived this past week to finalize the repair from my June 1st crash (Thanks Nucular for rebuilding my footpeg assemblies).
Spent the day working on the bike and detailing her before trying the startup on a new battery (left my Sirius radio on the day I rode home from NC with the broken leg, wasted the battery)
Bike seemed to run ok. Was concerned about the 3 month old gas, so added some Seafoam. Took 20 sec or so cranking before she fired up.
Felt good to be back on the bike. My ankle...not so good. Definitely feel the Ti plate and screws making the ankle area hurt a bit in my new boots (Why didn't I get better more protective boots long ago?)
So...hopefully things are looking up a bit.

I was only using a hex key. I thought I wasn't torqueing it too much... The bolt is fine, I snapped the aluminum band itself just passed the bolt. Too much tension on some old brittle aluminum. Looks like no riding for a while.

Changed the oil. Only 2500 miles on the oil, but now it's at right close to 10,000, so now I can do it every 5k easy. Filter on the 5's just oil on the 10's.

i think i need to do this. BOTH.

instead..

I remembered to reinstall my handlebar end- third eye mirror

i rode my bike to work for the third day in a row with looming clouds (i havnt rode it in what seems like three YEARS since it went under the knife.)

Plugged the Li-Batt in when i got to work, just as i do when i get back home, since the stator is toast.

I also huffed gas fumes as i parked it in the building to put some header wrap on later tonight. It leaks from the left side of the carbs.. sometimes.

yayy. love my SV. :)

Just finished the TPS adjustment. The whole thing took about 30 minutes (including a 10 minute search for my torx bit...see below). It wasn't too far out of whack - indicator bar moved up at about 2700 rpm...got it down to just under 1500. Hopefully this will smooth out some of the abruptness in the throttle at lower speeds...will go for a ride tomorrow to test.

On a side note, while I was loosening the TPS bolts, the torx bit popped out of the ratchet, but didn't fall on the floor. It got caught up somewhere on the engine casing or inside the frame, but I couldn't see it. I ended up digging out my trusty magnet pick-up tool and fishing blindly around. After about ten minutes, I finally found the damned thing - it was lodged up against the frame on the inside...what a PITA.
