Installed some black Bike Master superbike bars and a set of TechSpec tank traction pads. I like the bend on the bars, less pullback (3.5 inches less) and they are 3 inches wider. The tank pads feel good on the street. Can't wait to see how the bars and the pads work at the track!

Like the superbike bars. Every time I ride the naked bike....I have to readjust to my clubmans. I'm amazed how much harder they are to adjust to then the clipons.

I looked at my bike and promised to ride her tomorrow:(

Sanded on the carbon tank some more and put the battery tender on her. As soon as I get the tank done she will get some love but lately I have been playing way too much with the DRZ. :)

wouldn't hurt to stuff a rag in the exhaust outlet. and maybe something in the intake snorkel just to help keep stuff out if it wants to cozy up inside. i would recommend pouring some fuel stabilizer in the tank too.
ya i cut a cone shaped "stoper" out of foam turned the bike big pop gun. :naughty: is there a way to plug the intake (1k snorkel) with out having to unbolt the tank?

Adjusted the tps, dropped in my sonic springs, and finished putting the 07 zx 10 shock in place.

Although the suspension mods are huge, the tps adjustment is nothing short of amazing. Total cost was only the price of the torx bit. If a shop had charged me a hundred to make my engine run this smooth, I would have felt very good about the charge. If you have not tried this mod (adjustment) yet, do so asap.

Next weeks project will be bolting on the sv 1000 calipers.

Went for a short (100+ miles ride) and then attempted to install my Evotech Tail Tidy only to discover that there were missing pieces. Now I have to wait for the missing pieces to arrive. Grr...

I changed the oil today. Yes, I know, ridiculously easy. Still, it's the first time I changed the oil on the bike. I didn't include the filter this time just because I didn't want to bother. It's not like it's that much harder, but meh. The oil that came out seemed to be in pretty decent shape for an engine with over 18000 miles on it. I think the people who had this bike before me took good care of it.

First time since you bought it? Not knockin ya, just feel the need to point out that you don't know when the PO last changed the filter. Manual says change it every other oil change, so it would probably be safer to change the filter too just so you know it's in good condition. Granted, most people do all that before they sell it, but some don't have the money or just don't want to spend the money on something they are getting rid of anyway. Just my 2c.

I gave mine a good bath! It needs to be cleaned a little better, but it'll due for now. I'm waiting for some rear swing arm spools to help with the thorough cleaning.

I removed the head from the front exhaust bolt. D'oh!

Then I installed Woodcraft rearsets, new L side clipon + controls and put the triple tree back together.

Next project: drill out the bolt and see if I can get it to loosen up. Definitely going with stainless replacements all round.

Yeah… I probably should have changed the filter, but I didn't feel like bothering. I'll do it next time, and "next time" probably won't be too many miles in the future. It's just so easy to do… I've only had the bike for ~1500 miles.

recently i scored 2001 gsxr 1000 6pot calipers, vesrah RJL pads for 6pot and 2005 gsxr 750 oem fork springs (.85).
however, my 2002 gsxr 750 forks are leaking oil, and i need to rebuild them. before that i will need to make a fork spring compressor.

Started mine up for the first time in 10 days...almost wouldn't start cuz the battery was weak...gonna have to buy a battery tender or start riding it more. Rode it to the bank and back and I felt like such a noob...bike felt weird. Definitely not used to letting it sit for more than 12 hrs a day.

Installed my Galfer SS brake lines front and rear and some Speed Bleeders. Looks good and feels nice. The speed bleeders are a sweet way to bleed/flush brakes. Now I've been eyeballing different master cylinders and SVRP adapter plates for Gixxer calipers. When does it end?

Cleaned and lubed the chain, changed the oil, added sta-bil to the fuel, started it for the first time in three weeks and let it warm up, then shut it down, cleaned and polished everything, then stuck it in the corner of the garage on the battery tender until spring. :(
