Finally got the rear suspension dialed in and then went for a killer ride....

Oh wait, that's what I *wanted* to do ..... spent 12hrs re-landscaping the front yard instead. *Sigh*

On the other hand, I've recently rebuilt my front-end with .85 springs and 20wt oil, mounted my GoPro, and been doing a lot of sanding and smoothing on my belly pan.

installed shogun rear spools, renthal grips and put in some fresh Repsol 10/40 and a K&N oil filter, new vesrah front brake pads and speigler brake lines.

still need to change the plugs, and then it will be ready for pulling the battery and adding some stabil to the gas for winter!

Yes, I actually did something on my SV besides farting on the seat.

I installed some Vstrom handguards which should go nicely with the heated grips already on there. Actually, they have been excellent in the mildly cold weather so far!

I just changed my oil. Apparently when the last owner had the oil changed, he had the filter welded on :angry4: After no luck with hand strength or strap wrenches, I found the next best thing. Since I had no set of pliers with short enough grips to get good leverage, I pulled out the C-clamp. Squeezed that bas**** tight till it bent in, and forced it off. Good times.

Good FYI:
Pound a screwdriver all the way through it and turn...Works like a charm.

Got the radiator cover on. Looks cool.

Cant see it but just did the R6 throttle tube. Makes a little difference when on longer highway trips so you dont have to adjust your grip so often.

The exhaust wrap is also recent. The wrap definetly cuts down on heat rising up off the pipes at stop lights, plus it looks cool.

Good idea. I had heard of the nail trick like that, but I didn't have a nail and I didn't even think of a screwdriver. I'll remember for next time thanks.
Note: Pound the screwdriver through the side, NOT the top (I felt it needed to be said).

Monday was oil, filter and coolant swap. Friday will be plugs, SS brake lines and new pads, and a new filter element - if the dealer gets one in. I went there today to pick one up, and they were out.

The parts guy told me they sold the ONE they stocked and the replacement wouldn't arrive until about noon Friday. WTF? I know it's not a gixxer, but you only stock 1 of them? How about maybe expanding your warehouse so you can stock 2 with a reorder point of 1?

I buggered up the threads on my rear axle today...I guess you should loosen to the closest hole after 72 ft lbs instead of trying to get the next one. Now another day i cant ride my new tires :)

While its down i made a rod to go through to measure my wheel alignment though.

Road her in a downpour. First one with me as the owner. Got her all wet..hehehehe. She was sliding all over the place.

Yet again, rode her to work. Waiting on my .90 Sonic Springs and 20wt to come in then she'll be w/ the mechaninc getting those put in and the SuperLite sprockets put on too.
