I spent $750 for an Elka rear shock.....
because it was VERY tall and hiked the rear-end up so much, I spent another $200 to have the internals lowered so that I might reach the ground. But that wasn't low enough, so he put some longer links on it....
- BUT -
it felt too soft at the rear and I found my zip tie on the raised front tubes to have been pushed all the way to the triple tree.

Soooo..... I returned the OEM link in place, lowered the tubes back to the top of the tree. I can't reach the ground any better than I can on my Bandit, but the SV handles & rides MUCH better!

Got the replacement for my stolen SV last night. Today I installed a Gorilla 8017 alarm, put an alarm on the door where the bike is garaged, installed an Evotech fender eliminator, T-Rex swingarm sliders and no-cut Motosliders.

4.5 hours of work...I took a break and now I'm heading out to put the tech spec snakeskins on and peel off the warning stickers. Hopefully I won't be too **** tired to ride it lol.

Took all of the stickers and resulting glue residue off of the bike (tank, chain guard, fairing and frame - all except the one that has the VIN on it and the Suzuki stickers).

Replaced brake fluid front and rear. Next is the coolant, and getting my new front tyre mounted and balanced, and a clear windshield so I can see things when I tuck behind it.

Broke out the toothbrush & kerosene and gave the chain a much needed scrub down. Lubed it and then went for a ride. Came back an hour later, just before the skies opened!

Rode the pi$$ out of it! 200 miles in the letter road blessed hinterlands of Southwest Wisconsin

Good to hear it Darren!

I walked out and looked at mine for a couple minutes. Contemplated getting on it. But just then I started feeling dizzy again, and got my sick and tired self back inside.

I was really hoping to get this challenge today: http://forum.svrider.com/showpost.php?p=2092130&postcount=1944 - here's hoping for Tuesday instead

got my rear seat cowl in the mail, so i pulled the grab bar off and fitted the filler inserts and the new cowl. looks good. the cowl itself is in a little rough shape but i can live with it for now and send it over to my painter in the winter.
