Just thought this would be a cool new topic. If there is already one in existence please let me know so I can delete this one, or a mod can do it. As for me I finished my under tail project and rode the crap out of it.

Put on my new cowling, previous owner mismatched spray paint in some sad attempt to cover up a lowside and it had just 1 tab still holding it on, I didn't help things on my 40 mph get-off in Sept, either. :( Put on new headlight assembly, previous owner had the right lens scratched and sorta fogged a bit in the corner. Put on the new under belly plastic piece, previous owner had 1 of 4 tabs left and super glue used to hold it to the previously mentioned older fairing. Before the season ended I put on a new windshield, previous was scratched to **** on the INSIDE from...taking the dash board plastic piece off and on. That same piece was cracked and broken a bit, and further in my aforementioned get off, now replaced.

So the whole front end of the bike is new in looks once I get the new mirrors and turn signals (Faux-zoma) in mid Feb. I knew this **** when I bought the bike. It's why I talked him down, and besides I'm a sucker for red and black. I just think it's kinda sad that I've owned 3 bikes and I'm easily the most caring owner for every bike I've ever owned.

I like the blue/red combination.

Changing tires with spoons SUCKS! Changed the rear last night. Replaced the f3 wheel bearings. Cleaned the rim and remounted the wheel. Strung the new chain and called it a day.

Still have to cut the chain, install master link, replace fork seals (again), mount the front rim after it gets new rubber, and change the plugs. She'll be ready for next season.......finally.

Got around to that long procrastinated oil change!

Procrastinated installing the new clutch hose though. Just felt that if I'm going to take off the frame covers and saddle I'm going to get the itch to pull the tank, drop the rad and do a valve adjustment too.

I'm starting to think I spend more time working on than riding. But it's fun...

Today was a busy day:
  • Installed new 0.85 springs and 15W fork oil
  • Swapped lower triple (properly this time)
  • Installed bar end mirror
  • Re-installed JCW Trunk, this time screwed through the bottom instead of using the quick-release plate. The first time it fell off.

Bummer, you planning on getting something else?

Parked her in a new spot at work! Work policies state we park in the distant reserved spaces...however, it was recently discovered that motorcycles have a policy of their own...so I exercised it today. I parked her close, could see her all day, and highly agitated the big boss by doing it.

took off the front wheel to grease up the bearings some and checked the brakes while i was at it. took of and cleaned to brake lever and switch. the through-bolt had gotten a little rusty and wasn't allowing the lever to return all the way, so sometimes it looked like i was riding the brakes to folks behind me. cleaned the bolt, applied a coat of grease, put everything back together.

Finally back on the road, big thanks to the SVRider folks who helped me along. Fineshed the tires, sprocket, and chain. Gave her a spit polish. Headlight and gauges need some readjustment but that can wait as it's freezing out with iced roads.
So far the maintenance includes:
Fresh Metzler Sportec M3s
Chain and 14/45 gearing
Carb clean and rebuild
Fresh fork seals
Rear wheel bearings

My curvy lives on......

Today I met with the dude who's doing custom paint on my '02 and we finalized plans for the color. So psyched to see how it's going to come out.

This is the most recent photo. Since it was taken I've replaced the clip-ons and upgraded the brake lever due to a lil track mishap, installed an Ohlins rear shock and got a clean, dent-free tank and Targa solo cowl in advance of the paint-job. Soon as all the bits are back on I bet I'll want to fast-track the frame & swingarm powder coat idea I've been toying with.

This post is by way of re-introduction. I've been a member here (and lover of SVs) for years but haven't posted anything since probably '09.

Hi I'm back.

I can't wait to share photos after paint and whatever other mods I'll be doing...

EDIT: I mentioned it'd been a while but GDit, why isn't the dang flickr link showing up as a photo?!

Flickr is a bit weird, first right click the photo and pick the size you want (I picked medium 650) then once the page reloads right click again on the photo and this time click on "properties". From there copy the address in the middle of the pop up and paste in the img brackets.

Welcome back, Marcos! Sounds like a fun time with your bike. As for the photo link, most use photobucket, or another similar photo upload (I use imgup from my phone).

As for me...I didn't do anything to my SV today, but I plotted and planned about how I'm going to molest it this weekend 8) Front seat cover assembled, back seat cover left to create, frame sliders lying in wait, and a couple other things waiting to come in. I wish I was making as much progress on the Bandit...but alas, this is an SV haven ;)

That is sexy!
where did you order it from? I have yet to find an Ohlins for the 1K. Would be curious if the place you got yours from has one.
