Took her out on her first organized run (Relay for Life poker run). Despite being only 1 of 3 sportbikes out of 55 bikes (me and 2 Kawis...rest were Harleys) I had a great time. Very cool!

Adjusted pre-tension, filled up the tires, and went out for my first long two up ride. Now if I can just explain to my rider that she needs to refrain from leaning when we're going in a straight line...

Put a ZX14 shock and Eastern Beaver headlight harness on my buddy's 06SVS. Then put Intiminators and new BT021's on mine. After that we went down and had our bikes dB tested by the Edmonton Police Service. A by-law goes into effect July 1 where we can be ticketed if our bikes are over 92dB at idle and/or 96dB at 2kRPM (for v-twins). Anywho, looks like I won't be needing a dB reducer in mine as I was at 88.5 dB at idle, 90dB at 2kRPM and 93dB at 5kRPM. My buddy's SV never got over 90dB, he has a Delkevic slip-on with dB reducer.

Was hot and humid this morning, till a stray thunderstorm came through and dropped the temps about 20 degrees. Perfect timing. Changed oil, cleaned/lubed chain, wiped off a few bugs. Odo hit 25k yesterday. SV's rock, life's great, that is all.

I changed the fork oil. I was using 20wt., changed to 15wt to see if it improved the response to "pavement irregularities".

It needed to be changed: it was in for about a year, about 11,000 miles and it was FILTHY. I've come to the conclusion that fork oil should be changed at least once a year or every 10,000 miles.

5 minutes away from home, my energy drink kicked in and i took a random right and just took a ride down the road until i hit some highway, then sat on the highway until i made a complete loop around houston, then got back on the road to my house.

Realised my chain was so goopy with dirt and caked on grime that it took me about 4 hours of tooth brush +gojo goop to clean the chain. Washed it, then took it for another ride. Stuck it in the garage. Decided I wasn't happy not riding it again so I got back on it and road it around the neighborhood practicing some stops. Went to the gas station to put more fuel in it (it was already 90% full lol) then finally parked it back at the house and waxed it.

My day is not complete without some sv-lovin.

Interesting that they ran your bike to 5000 rpm.... did they not believe you when you said you're bike is a V-twin? Gonna have to go tomorrow to see if my silencer-strangled RS3's pass this ridiculous BS test.

Nope they didn't believe me, it was a sport bike so it couldn't be a v-twin ;) So I pointed through the fairing and pointed to the rear then the front cylinder, then the single front exhaust pipe. The officer said it passed anyway so I need not worry.

It was very funny to watch the cruiser riders in the line-up start their bikes to move forward one spot then shut them off again. The dude in front of me did that 4 times before going to his test stall.

They should really go back to hunting down rapists and murderers, instead of embarrassing themselves in front of citizens!

Put in some Rotella T6 sythetic...Holy S4!T its like a hayabusa. LOL
Took of the rear handle.
Took of the reflectors off the front forks. (is that illegal?)
Washed it.

Took mine past two digits for the first time on the way to the Lyfe Jennings concert. Sooo smooth at higher speeds compared to my old DRZ. Still working on the proper riding position at speed.

Yesterday: Ordered a new tank bag from Cycle Gear to hold EVERYTHING I could possibly need in my daily commute. It's a Rapid Transit The Stack LT. Will end up with content pictures in a thread somewhere or other... Getting more and more comfortable without a trunk everyday. :nana:

finally installed my Tech Spec Grippers on the tank. It makes a big difference when riding alone and even better with the girl on the back so my nuts dont smash the tank as much Got it all cleaned up, chain adjusted and lubed, ready to head to Thunder in the Valley on Friday.

Finally gave it its post rally wash and rubdown. Inspected and lubed the chain, too. Rallying is dirty business.
