Changed oil and oil filter. 6K miles I'm pretty sure I just took the stock oil filter off. Had to stab it with a screw driver and pry it with a giant monkey wrench. Then I reinstalled the stock fender the previous owner cut off. And I added LED turn signals, mirror block of plates, and Shogun frame sliders.

Got rid of stock mirrors and replaced with bar end one's, looks much nicer and better visibility.
work.

Probably should have left the flash off.

decided to paint the bolts, too

didn't wash the bike because the fairings are all busted, dirt kinda hides the scratches

thanks to tom (salosv) for the idea, saw his black ones at the midsouth rally and decided to copy it.

spray can was running low towards the end so i think i got a little extra texture. it looks pretty cool, matches the frame pretty good, dunno about durability yet.

Two weeks ago I changed my rear tire (original) for a Michelin Pilot Road 2.

Today I changed the front one for a Road 2 too, but in size 120/70-17. the 60 series was backorder for 2 weeks.

I must say, it is night and day, from the originals to the PR2's. It sticks, it goes where you want them to go, they are fabulous!

Rode a little 200km today PM, and I love 'em!! The beefyier tire in front is a welcome gift! More rubber on the road!!

Hahah I was going to say... there was something wrong with that first picture...

So you guys find that those things don't let you see anything? I mean they seem to be even shorter than stock mirrors...

You have them upside down, they go this way

That way the road knows where you are going IMO;D

About the same as a stock mirror actually.May even be a bit wider.
I was considering some of these.. but how is the quality of them? ... I had some mirror only ones on my 1999 and they were pretty flimsy and didn't have the best range of motion for adjustments...

These look to be made by the same company...

hmmm... I also wonder if they would work with the riser blocks like I have on mine pictured below...

Rode it back after passing the MSF course! Yay!

When I had mine, I had them the other way because the LEDs shined toward the ground before I flipped them. I noticed because I was riding at night and I noticed the ground was flashing and it took me a second to figure it out. I thought I could see a little more with them if not just the same.

As far as what I did today, I put on my quick release tank pins I got from MRK66. Great product...Thanks! Now if I could just get quick release pins for the pilot seat and body panels!

Partly recovered from yesterday's 700 km day trip to Three Hills to see a classic car show, steak dinner in Drumheller, and then back to Edmonton. Heading into and out of the valley around Drumheller was amazing.... I could have just ridden that road about a hundred times before heading back home LOL. Pretty sore now though, as I'd had a week layoff from the bike (neck) and then hit the road on stock clip-ons and stock seat.

Before I went, I did fiddle with compression and rebound adjustments. In the 3 years I've had my SV1K, I never altered them from what the previous owner had them at. To my surprise I found compression on both the shock and forks almost at full, and rebound at half-way! No wonder it kicked me out of the seat on certain bumps. Experimented with a half-turn from full rebound and then set compression to about 65% toward full-hard. What a difference. The bike just sort of soaks up the bumps while maintaining nice contact with the road. The ride is soooooo much better now, and on mid-corner bumps the bike just deals with it and stays balanced and composed. Yay!

Resnorkeled and (finally) put on the quick release tank pins. Also wired in a USB extender so I can charge my phone up front instead of under the seat.

I thought they looked ugly that way :p I installed them at a friends house, and we debated on which way to put them on for a few moments. Ended up like this because....that's how I like them :)

Zokambaa - they will work with the risers, because they use the stock hex bolts to hold them on. Also, the viewing angle is slightly wider (not that it matters, my wide shoulders make it so I cant see out of them without leaning to one side anyway.)
