Just thought this would be a cool new topic. If there is already one in existence please let me know so I can delete this one, or a mod can do it. As for me I finished my under tail project and rode the crap out of it.

I tried a different technique for lubing my chain. It seems to be very difficult to lube a chain all over without missing some links (can shaking while rotating the back tire) or using way too much to make sure everything gets lubed.
Sooooo, I saturated a toothbrush with PJ1 Blue Label chain lube and used the brush to apply the lube. It worked great. No mess, no waste. It takes a couple of "brush fulls" to get the chain lubed, but it's evenly applied and it's not dripping with the stuff.

Fabbed and test-mounted a bracket to hold my pair of Stebel TM80 Magnum horns I just got. Found a nice place on the right side of the engine behind the radiator and above the oil cooler. Was trying to figure out a way to hide them in my fairing but I couldn't figure out how to get the bottom off and how to mount the horns. Also started looking for a place to put my SVR stickers I got today...woohoo!

yesterday had new Pirelli Diablo Strada mounted and balanced on the rear wheel and reinstalled it, went for a test ride on my new tire, new (to me) '05 zx10 shock, and 1" lowering links (to counter the longer shock). It rides a lot better now. I can still feel the front end dipping a lot during braking and i can feel every bump in the road through the handlebars but the rear rides like a magic carpet. The new tire/ZX shock made a big difference.

Checked the voltage drop at my head light on my naked to see if I wanted to bother installing a relay or not. 14.5V at the battery, 13.6v at the light, only .9V drop and still well above the "rated" voltage for the light bulb (12.8V). I think I leave it as is.

Changed the chain & sprockets on the track bike.
Went with D.I.D ERVIII chain & Superlite sprockets. 15/46. I ride a small, technical track, so quick acceleration is key.

the post man graced me and the bike with a shiny shiny set of RSV mille front forks

I fixed the horn that stopped working while I was riding home. It must have been corrosion, because I unplugged the horn, checked voltage at the leads, plugged it back in and it worked. I cleaned the contacts and used di-electric grease on the horn connectors and it's good to go.

i use that bell ray stuff too, the dealer up here also uses it. works pretty good, your supposed to go for a quick ride after you clean it and then apply it. will stick better since its kinda of like wax it likes a warm surface.
anyway, if you get any on your rim some WD-40 on a rag will take it right off.

Yeah, I love em! I spray painted the bracket this morning and mounted the horns to it tonight and made all the horn connections too. Zip-tied the wiring to the back of the bracket and now I'm just waiting for a day I get off early enough to open up my bike and install the relay onto my cat5 harness and hook it up to my stock horn connection.Whoa... you put TWO Stebels on there?!?!? I couldn't resist...I gave it a couple test honks in the garage with my 12v drill battery. My family heard it and laughed cuz it was so loud and asked me to come in the house and honk it a couple times...lol. Methinks that the next time someone changes lanes into me, they will definitely learn that I am there...lol
BTW...I got the pair at hornsplusauto dot com for $20 plus shipping...way better than the $40 + shipping everywhere else. Got em in a week.

Drained and removed my gas tank to get it ready for filler and primer. It's actually going to match the plastics this season.
Let's see I ordered a gsxr 600 frontend, brakes, wheel, clipons, stainless lines, side panels, and tank pins. I just put a pcIII, vortex rear sets, integrated tail, flush mount turn sigs, custom tune, michelen pc2's, removed all badging, motosliders frame sliders, motosliders swingarm sliders, and gsxr 1000 rear shock. Next week I will be in stalling all the parts and painting the rear wheel black to match the front wheel. Soon to be getting a custom pait job! After that I don't have much left to do.
