Replaced the low fuel level tank sensor. The old one was NASTY!!! The wires were both disconnected from the caps and the caps look like they went to war. What makes them look like that?

 

not sure, the ethanol maybe? thats probably whats wrong with mine. i think i might try to go the re-soldering route though.

 

Changed the oil and filter and made it so the rear brake light comes on a bit earlier.

 

Adjusted stock suspension. Still playing with it. Should upgrade later when I am rich.

 

Took of the stock bars. Have tusk chub 1/1/8" atv high bend bars on the way with adapters. Also took off rear pads "yikes only about a 1/16 left on thrm" Ordered a air filter and rear pads to. Now just need to get the bars so i can get a measurement for the brake line.

 

On my bike I tightened the chain as well as checked the new shrouds to see if they fit correctly

 

Chain tightened, previous owner had it slack as all hell. (Paid mechanic to do as I don't have a wrench big enough for the axle nuts. Something I will rectify shortly.)

 

Assuming you still have the tool kit that came with the bike, and the PO didn't toss it, there are 2 closed end wrenches in there that fit the axle nuts, that's how I did mine.

 

Cleaned one - put another one up for sale.

 

Swapped out the rear Pilot pure for an old Qualifier that needs finishing off. The pure still has one good track day left in it after my 1720 mile trip to the rally and the two previous track days. Also color matched the spokes and inner ring on the rear rim to the rest of the bike just to see how it looks. I'll be stripping and polishing the outer rings/lips to put a touch of shine to the bike.

 

Switched the stock shock back in.

 

Well not today but at the weekend I did:

1. throttle body sync (feels awesome again)
2. clean, adjust and lube chain (smooooth again)
3. while lowers were off I washed and cleaned every nook and cranny (adds ~10 mph)
4. fixed small crack in left lower (adds another 5 mph)

 

looked at it longingly as i rode away on my fiancee's 95 ZX6e . we replaced the friction plates in the ZX last night so im riding it to/from work/the gym today to see how he behaves.

 

Installed a Sargent. My arse thanks me.

 

Installed new front brake pads. Soooo much easier the most of the cages I've owned.

 

That's good to hear. I'll be doing mine tomorrow. Today was adjusting the chain tension.

 

got the rear wheel remounted and chain adjusted. ready to ride to work tomorrow I haven't ridden in a week since the trip back from the rally.

 

I commuted to work for the first time in my life with my Sv650 today, and it was my first ride not accompanied by my buddy. Something pretty interesting happened to me on the way home too. This guy in the lane next to me at a red light rolled his window down and goes to me "Hey man I love your bike, that was my second bike I learned a lot on it. I miss it." put a smile on my face

 

Flushed, filled and bled the brakes. Cleaned the chain too. I'm thinking it was the first cleaning in 2000 miles(just bought the bike). Yeah, it was a dirty b!tch.

 

Lower fairings off... S to nakid conversion has started...

 

Installed push-button switch and relay to bypass my fan thermal switch. Temp keeps creepin up if I leave it as it is, so the switch will help when I get stuck in traffic on hot days.

removed the ebay HID fairing from the previous owner. fabbed up some ears from aluminum plate and mounted up a new delkevic 7 inch round headlight. waiting on front signals to come in. i may make up some extra brackets out of the leftover aluminum i have if anyone is interested.

Installed my RaceTech 0.85 kg/mm springs and 15W fork oil. Tonight, the ZX-10R shock goes in!

 

PPut it in my pickup and drove it to hotel in preps for NCBike trackday w/ TPM.
