I put on and wired up some turn signal mirrors. They look kinda weird, but I think they'll be pretty safe. Oh yeah, I messed with my chain tension a little bit, but I don't want to stir that pot right now haha.

Went for a 60 mile ride today. Glad to see my thermostat replacement resulted in no more coolant leaks!

Also did a lot of practice throttle-blipping while downshifting under braking. Was prompted to try after reading a Keith Code article in Motorcyclist about it. I can do basics of it pretty well most of the time now, (plus it's fun!) Just need to go out there and apply it to corners and finish the equation with smooth brake release and progressive throttle application for corner exit drive.

Good thing track school is coming up!

Changed the oil and adjusted the height of the GSXR forks in the triple. It made a noticeable difference to riding position (front end is higher, so less weight shifted forward).

Rode it out to my new place and parked it in the garage.

I noticed the bike likes to pull left (or requires a little pressure to keep it going straight), so I need to make some adjustments. Also, I was in 1st at constant throttle and noticed the RPMs kept fluctuating- kind of hard to describe. I will do a little investigating. Ideas?

Knifemaker-

That looks great man!

I did notice nobody mentioned the fact that the sprockets wear, this also contributes to chain tension issues. They however don't shrink, so lets not start again.

Anyone know the size sockets I need to loosen the rear axle for adjusting the chain? 20mm is the biggest I have an it's too small for the right side of the bike, 7/8" is too big on standard for that side of the bike. Castle nut on the other side is even bigger.

The wrench you need is in your tool kit if you still have it. Not as nice as a socket but works in a pinch.

Castle nut is 24 mm. If you don't have a socket, maybe you have a Crescent wrench?

Don't you need to apply a specific amount of torque to that castle nut that you wouldn't be able to accurately measure with a crescent wrench?
Right so you should get a 24mm socket and use a torque wrench (72.5 ftlbs) to tighten everything down. If you want to do it right. Or you can do a good-n-tight with a crescent wrench if that's all you have.

Get the 24mm socket and do it right. It's not like you absolutely have to adjust your chain today. Unless it's about to fall off, this weekend or next will be just fine.

Went home at lunch. Took off the calipers and fender. Then went shopping for the 12mm allen wrench. Gonna try sears after work, but my go with the ghetto bolt fix

You can learn what that amount of torque feels like and get by without a torque wrench. I do it all the time. I'll grab the torque wrench in some cases, though I don't have any hard and fast rules.
