I buy the K&N and change it every other change oil change so it costs half. :D
Next thing you're going to tell me is you ride mile long wheelies while texting, right?

i have heard that there air filters are below standard but not the oil filters, but as i sead above the tool alone costs more than a K&N oil filter because UK suzuki like to rip people off and so does the goverment with all this rubbish tax that they never seem to spend on what they should
Could be, maybe I'm incorrectly lumping all K&N stuff together and shouldn't be. You are aware that you can use the tool more than one time, right? I still have the "special tool" from my Honda CB-1 that I sold 10 years ago. I was just a little disappointed that it didn't fit the SV.

I cut some height out of the passenger seat. The wife thought it was too high and a little too firm for her. It came out about average, or slightly below, but the underside is an absolute horror show. Apparently a heavy duty manual staple gun just doesn't quite have enough juice to do the job without some serious extra effort and colorful language.

Tightened up all the hose clamps around the thermostat housing and topped up the coolant bottle. I must have spilled a little bit, because for the first 20 minutes of today's ride I kept smelling coolant. I pulled into parking lots twice to make sure for leaks or any tell-tale white wisps of anti-freeze, but nothing. Smell was gone the rest of the day and when I got home I checked again and all seemed well.

Great ride today too. +10 C and the recent rain has washed a lot of salt off the roads around here. Was surprised by how much lean angle (still nothing extreme) I could get and the bike felt stable and secure.

Several engine manufacturers recommend changing the filter every other change... or they used to. I feel the same way about it as I do about running Rotella - I've been doing it this way on the same bike for a long time and I'm rockin' 35k hard miles without trouble.

Went for a first ride with Lost in Paradise and Muriatic.Great to meet new people, especially ones who ride at a pace I'm comfortable with.
When I got home I found the Delk was popping a bit to much and needed a reseal.Pulled the passenger pegs off and put my strut and handle back on.

Started her up to listen to her roar night before last. Last weekend our riding group did a gathering to do SAG settings. My fork pre-load was perfect after my rebuild. I've not ridden for 6 months-awaiting the next knee surgery set for next Friday the 26th. Then, will have to wait another 6-8 weeks before I can take her our for the post fork re-build maiden voyage. Wish me luck next week!

yeh i know i can use it again, just was trying to do it on the cheep and hear the K&N is like ÂŁ1-ÂŁ2 more expensive

annnyyy wayy the tool dident work  because the metal had been weekend it was just twisting the head and nearly riped the rest of it off lol so resorted to a hammer and a size 22 spaner sloted in to the hole that i had made on the oil filter and hit the cr&p out of it lol came off in the end but the oil filter looked like it had see WWIII

^yea.. ya gotta change the oil filter more frequently, put oil on the seal, and most importantly.. ONLY hand tighten the thing and don't put the mojo on it! It doesn't need it, I swear.
At work, I have to laugh every time I hear cursing coming from the oil-change bays in my shop because I know they're cursing the last guy who changed the oil. (usually jiffy-lube high-school-drop-out morons who can't seem to get it through their heads not to crank down everything they touch with everything they've got!)

I'm pretty sure the manual does say every other time. However, I'm not the most diligent record keeper, and instead of trying to remember whether or not I changed the filter last time, I just do it every time. I also don't have to remember two different amounts of oil to fill. A man's got to know his limitations.

Holy crap. Who the hell installed the last filter...

...Never mind, I think I know. ;D

We used to call that "gorilla torquing." As in, "who the f*ck gorilla torqued this thing?"

Yesterday went for my first tiny little 10 mile ride to get gas and around the block. Morning started with putting my new PR2 on the bike and setting it down outside since last November when I had my shoulder surgery. I'll be headed out in a couple minutes for a couple hours to get the bugs loose and practice some slow speed stuff in a big parking lot. Oh how I miss this machine.

Pic and update in my signature link to my bike.

Have a good day ya'll! I know I will!

haha no the bloke is/was a redgisterd car mechanic  but looks like he needs to get some more training

now i put the K&N on hand tight and it leaked so tightend it one whole turn and still leaked (i did oil the seal) so in the end had to put anothe half a turn to seal it :) but at least the K&N has a proper socket head on it lol

was a very nice day hear but the bike still has not front brakes on it so ended up replacing the wheels on my mums rx8 instead of riding my bike :'(

but any way polished up the pad pins to day and cleaned the bleed nipples
