lol yea it's a 3/4 inch wide piece that goes around the contour. Painted it black when I was changing my LEDs to blue, which looks sweet by the way. It's one of those cheap mods that does a lot to change the look of your bike, if you're up for it of course!

rode it, burnt a lot of fuel in very short distance

lubed the chain

orderd, braided front lines, air filter, oil filter, oil, red ruber greace , velocity stacks

going to strip the front brakes down and clean up the pistons, do the oil and filter change, re paint rear foot pegs and hangers black to match my GB moto rear sets

then i will have to wait till my Bday to fit the volocity stacks, also going to look at making some tank risers and have a look at the snorkle and see what i can do with it, might try cold air induction :p

Installed my modified R6 throttle tube.
Removed gauge cluster, soldering bright white LED's tomorrow.
Tore apart the front fairing, removed windscreen, removed seat, raised tank. It literally took me doing all of this to figure out what I was doing. Lesson learned and now I know a couple more parts of the bike. Oh and I realized that the previous owner lost the tank stand.
Also ordered the nut / bolt for my ZX14 shock. Looks like I'll be installing that in a week or so. ;D

Changed the oil and filter, and installed a K&N air filter. It's been long due for the oil change since my bikes don't know the meaning of winter storage. Tires, chain, and sprockets are coming up in the next 1k miles or so.

Installed the SW-Motech centerstand from Twisted Throttle. I have to say, for a 'bolt on' part, this was a bear. A lot of trial and error before getting it to install properly. I revised the instructions from the TT site and will post on svrider

I rode it through sunset.

Brrrr that was cold. Time for some hot chocolate. :)

Took an hour to get reacquainted with her. Rode out to the township park, did some low speed practice, couple of U-turns from a dead stop, and my first stoppie on the SV. Accidental, of course. Then made a mad dash home down 993, following a fire truck that was going full tilt, lights, siren, the whole shlameal. That they were canceled right in the middle of my favorite decreasing radius bend. Lights off, siren dead, foot off the gas. That sucked. Fire trucks have more compression braking than an SV apparently. And they don't care about holding a line either.

Balanced my front wheel at a friend's house.

I haven't balanced my wheels when doing tire changes since the bike was new and have never had a problem - but I just put a new Pilot Power on the front and was getting some vibration at high speeds. I yanked the wheel off yesterday and took it to my buddy who has a balancer and he checked it out for me. It needed 1.5oz in one spot (.75 oz on each side) and another .25 oz in another. I just put the wheel back on a little while ago, but it was getting dark, so I haven't tested it out yet. I used the remaining few minutes of daylight to give it a quick clean/polish. Maybe I'll get home from work in time to take it for a quick spin tomorrow.

Rode a good stretch for about an hour and a half, before I even got out of the driveway I almost dumped the bike thanks to a cute oil streak from my brother's [1993 Touring] RX7. Should have done some slow-speed maneuvering before the sun started to set, though :/ .
