Just thought this would be a cool new topic. If there is already one in existence please let me know so I can delete this one, or a mod can do it. As for me I finished my under tail project and rode the crap out of it.

Had Dunlop Q2 s installed, emulators/ springs installed, top out springs for 10mm more up front, raising links 15mm in the back. Installed my track plastics for this weekend at Jennings. Cleaned her up. Got synthetic oil and filter that I will do when I get there tomorrow afternoon. She's all ready for a little abuse.

Installed speed bleeders and changed brake fluid. I failed to properly comprehend and execute the simple direction: screw on speed bleeder till it fully seats. So, the genius I am I stopped once I felt some good resistance (which I interpreted as "seated"). I went to pump the front brakes a few times and it goes all the way back to the grip.

I walk around the bike and notice a stream of brake fluid seven feet long parallel to the bike and the dust covers went flying about three feet. Adjusted, tested, then fluid change, tested, didn't die.

I replaced the factory mirrors with intergrated turns and they simply LOOK m much better... only $30 on ebay! Also did the rear taillight/turn signals intergrated $40 or $45 on ebay was def worth it!

Put in spiked screws over the windsheild, i replaced the windsheild as well from PUIG double bubble 1.5 inch taller

also it was missing the bottom cowl of the fairing, as well as some stickers- only performance mod i've done was replace the upper part of the air box to a SV1000 omg this is a must do for your FIRST MOD cuz of how easy and SIMPLE and u get so much gain!!:blahblah:

Well, not today, but this is the first time I am online since Friday, so finally got to do a few things that I have been accumulating over the winter. Oil change, changed out the brake fluid that was nasty looking, replaced the ghetto rigged shifter pedal with a new one, threw my chopped can back on, and replaced the stock signals with some LED ones (have to figure out the right relay for the hyper blinking problem because the one i picked up didn't work). And I learned how to solder, have to love leaning over the SV and saying hope this goes right :p
And after all that, finally got out for the first time this year for a pretty nice ride yesterday with some of the other NYC guys :D

I washed her again.

I read about some guys removing the oil coolers on their track bikes, so I figured that it wouldn't hurt to block off air flow from the cooler in the cold weather we're still having. On 20 and 30* mornings, the oil doesn't get hot enough to evaporate the moisture out of the oil (fogging on the sight glass). So, I removed the oil cooler screen and put a rubber piece over the entire front of the cooler to block air to the cooler and let the oil get hotter. It's held in place with a couple of zip ties. Looks OK, hopefully it will help get the oil hotter and get the water out of the oil. When it warms up a bit, I'll take it off.

Got a few bits installed, new SM2 bars and Blair's adjustable rearset riser plates along with a new rear brake pressure switch. Bled the front and rear brakes too just to be extra cautious. I'm still looking around though trying to find a new return spring to replace the old one that is way too short now that that rearsets are raised and moved back a bit.

Then I proceeded to go for a nice 300 mi ride to test everything out and see how the new riding position felt. I have to say that it really wasn't bad on m back at all which I was surprised about and gave a much nicer feel for the front end. My throttle wrist though is absolutely killing me. I guess it must just be the angle now that I have to turn my wrist, but I'm hoping that will go away as I get used to it because its pretty **** painful.

Then she got a nice bath to wash the millions of bugs from the Texas country side that decided to try to hitchhike.
