Just thought this would be a cool new topic. If there is already one in existence please let me know so I can delete this one, or a mod can do it. As for me I finished my under tail project and rode the crap out of it.

Oooooooo! I think I finally fixed it! Found a VERY loose connector between the frame and the motor all the way at the front. Someone recommended checking the dreaded "Green Connector" and, while it was fine, when I was trying to get it loose, I nudged the black connector next to it and it popped wide open. Totally explains the symptoms and the blown fuse. While I was there I de-snorkeled it out of spite lol. Took it for a quick ride, and it felt pretty sprightly. The TRE probably had a lot to do with that, it did feel really peppy down low. So far, I'm a fan, and *fingers crossed* actually fixed it properly.

Tomorrow the wife and I are going to Cycle Gear to get a new jacket and a pair of gloves for her. We'll probably have her drive and I'll take the bike in the chance that it's still having an issue, so we're not both stranded lol

SWAPPED Out the sv650s 2 trunk snorkel for a sv1000's 3 trunk snorkel..

I've lost top end speed, but i can easily get up to 100mph "ON RAMP" before even entering the highway...

if you are a highway rider i would not recommend putting a 48t sprocket and the sv1000 snorkel...

with 45t sprocket and regular snorkel i reached (or so my speedo says) 151mph

since the 2 upgrades i can now barely go over 120-125

Sprockets and air tubes aside... there is no way in hell.... speedo error included that a SV650 will come close to 150mph... mid 130s maybe... 150? not likely unless your speedo was waaaay out...

unless it was down hill.... with a back wind and a very long road or something... or unless it is not really a SV650 and it is a SV1000

as far as the sv1000 tube goes.... I've not changed out stock sprocket sizes but with it breathing better I hit higher 0-60 times and top speed when I added the sv1000 airbox tube... it was minimal.. but there...

the later K&N, full M4 and power commander did add a bit more all around..

the SV1000 tube works for me...

your story about 150 before and 125 after is bullsh!t... unless your speedo is freaking out and doing stupid things.... the SV will only do 125-135

150 even with massive speedo error is hard to believe on a SV650

a smaller rear sprocket and a larger front should help with top speeds, but it will take longer to get up there...

Rode her out to Cycle Gear to order a new jacket and pick up some gloves for the wife, and replaced my gloves. Their return policy is the business! This is one place where I don't regret going a little cheap the 1st time around. I originally bought some BILT (CG store brand) boots and gloves. The boots went to crap and were straight swapped for a set of mo-betta A* boots, and the stitching on the Velcro for my gloves was coming apart, so they gave me a full refund to put towards a new pair. Picked up a pair of these.

Now we wait for the moto-sliders to come in and maybe I'll be done f***in' with it for a while ;)

Removed the over-the-bar mirrors and handlebar muffs (which allowed me to ride at below freezing temps all through the winter) and reinstalled my bar-end mirrors and hand guards to ride under the current not-so-cold temperatures.

She looks prettier now ;D

Test-mounted my SVRP clip-ons. They would be mounted for good, except that I have been sick as a dog since Friday and haven't had a chance to try to get a replacement throttle tube from the local shops. (Going to just go with a R6 tube, based the other thread I started.)

As such, I just mocked everything up, and didn't fine-tune placement or tighten everything down.

Also, put new coils on my '78 GS550E. Supposed to rain tomorrow, so hopefully Tuesday I'll get to see if they were really the root of the problems I was having.

Ran automotive electrical tubing and wiring to the front and installed 2 12v accessory plugs. Checked the green connector for potential issues and checked all of the fluids. Took a couple snapshots and now I am off to try to get a new battery.

Got the battery.....a nice AGM one too.....lol Waiting for it to stop bubbling so I can charge it. Anticipating a ride to work in the morning that won't risk leaving me frustrated. :)
