Plugged in 92westshady's Tre, waxed it to try to get some of the smaller scratches out and took some pictures. Been a while since I've been in the garage and need something to do.

More pictures in Photobucket. http://s159.photobucket.com/albums/t132/mdnd777/Bike 2010/

Also took the air box out to looking into doing a valve check/ adjustment before spring.

any of you guys know if the 03 and up plastics will fit 99-02?
No they don't fit.

I did the same thing to my bike today that I've done the past few weeks.....NOTHING. :(

Aligned my rear wheel using my new chain alignment tool...I was almost spot-on just eyeballin it last time. Lubed the chain then took it out for a short ride...surprised myself when the front came up takin off from a light...first time since I changed my gearing. Only thing i've done is run a half bottle of injector cleaner through two tanks. I'm happy. I also ordered a k&n air filter (used on ebay) and NEP throttle lock.

Yep... I soaked all the bolts I'd be taking out in PB Blaster a couple days ago. None of these bolts had ever been messed with in the 5.5 years and 32k miles I've ridden it; the rear header clamp bolt came out easy and one of the header bolts came out easy, as well, but not the other. I've been thinking about it for the past hour or so and, because it broke off with about 5mm showing above the surface, I think I'm going to try welding another bolt or stud to it and just leave it that way, not trying to remove it. We're talking about hardened steel frozen in there.
Don't do it, man. Get it out. 5mm left?? Drill it out. you can do it. Hell, just cutting a hole in the center relieves stress in it.

I have a couple extra exhaust studs. I'm supposed to ship them (& other stuff) to RichardCranium when I get back - I'm sure he won 't mind if I give you one.

These bolts are button head cap (socket cap) so they're hardened, I believe. I tried to drill into it and could only get a couple millimeters into it before it wouldn't go any further. There is 5mm exposed and almost the entire rest of the bolt inside; I'm guessing close to 20mm.

Finally finished swapping engines in my new race/track bike.

Go to put oil in it to start it up. Only have 2 quarts. Lose.

Try it anyways because I'm anxious, starts up and runs great!

There is a little exhaust leak though from the front cylinder so I need to try and re-seat the exhaust header (it looked kind of crooked when I put it on but figured I'd try it).

Going to get some oil over lunch, and I'll top it off and redo the exhaust and hopefully have a running bike! Then I just get to paint the bodywork and put the rest of the bike back together.

I put super sweet totally JDM painters tape racing stripes on at an Auto-X while bored yesterday.

Thinking about doing something like this for real.
