Went and got my VA inspection for the bike. Passed. Boy, it was tough. Let's see...lights - check, turnsignals - check, horn - check, brake light - check, randomly shine flashlight on one side of the engine - check.

That'll be $12.00 please. Here's your little pink piece of paper, and two new totally craptastic* stickers on your fork leg.

*My adjective of the day. ;D

Reminds me of the time over 3 years ago when I bought my new to me SV from out of state. I took it to DMV to register it and the inspection lady comes out with the inspection form.

The first thing she wants to know is where is the VIN#. I point to the frame with the VIN plate.
She says no it should also be stamped on the engine - WTF?
OK, I have no clue as this bike is totally new to me, but I tell her, well you are welcome to lay down under the bike and try to find the VIN, because I sure haven't seen it there.
She looks at me and says - umm, no that is OK, here is your approved inspection form, we are done!
HURRAY for lazy government workers! :)

I painted my ratty-lookin' exhaust pipe today. It's a similar color to the frame, but not close to the slip-on. Looks much better.

Moved the Sv out of the garage to do some service work on my friends Super Duke. He's headed down to the Gap for a week. It's in need of a little TLC. New rubber, chain maint., and a bath. Change the oil and cleaned the 2 screens and installed the filter the other day. **** it's a nice bike, even with out the rubber on.

Last night, we installed the Rizoma Zero 11 turn signals and connected them to the Clear Alternative integrated tail light. They are so bright they're almost blinding! Again, was so involved in the install that I forgot to take pictures during the process. I have the after pictures and video and will post those soon. :)

checked valves because of a noise in the rear cyclinder, and took out the rear tentionor bad idea when the engine is still in the frame Pain In My A$$ to put back in.. I feel like tipping it over:BangHead:

Few things.

First service! (180$, not too bad) - Check.
Bringing it up to 8.5k RPM - Check
100ish miles over the weekend - Check

Cleaned the bike and cleaned & oiled the chain after a 500 mile over-nighter through Yosemite this weekend.

Not something I would be necessarily happy about. If this was on the street, you might be pushing too hard. On a track (applies to the street too kinda), then you need to get off the bike more.

Yesterday, I did the D'ecosse RR mod.

Today I installed plate lights since there weren't any on this bike. I was going to gut the stock exhaust but decided it was too much work and I didn't have the right tools for it. So I just cut the end off the little pipe coming out the center. Actually made a small difference in the sound. :fiddy:

Finished getting it ready to be shipped to it's new owner. :(

It looks funny, as it has clip-ons and the stock bars attached as well. Easier to ship it that way. Now I just have to figure out how to fit the bike and all the extras in the crate....

It'll be crated up tomorrow some time.
