I lubed the chain with motor oil, like the manual says. I got a pointed dispenser bottle and put a drop of oil on each and every o-ring and used a rag to wipe off the excess (not much). It didn't take long at all.

I'll see how it compares to Bel-Ray Super Clean...

installed full Micron exhaust, only to find out the exhaust clamps that I have are too large (I think the ones I have are 67mm... GRRR) fitted the speedo bracket fix for my GSXR front end swap (using an aircompact sensor, not the cherry-hall sensor VERY small!), installed the Pyramid undertail that I have (discovered I need safety wire and a pliers to secure it to my satisfaction... GRRR), begun creating the reservoir mount for my Penske shock (Herzuki, where did you find a round bar!? I ended up using a flat one that I found...), removed the front rim (to unshoe and sell the front tire), removed the F3 rear rim & spacers to get ready to ship to Indiana (someone finally bought it, woot woo!), removed the front sprocket (also to ship to Indiana)...

Ran a file over front brake pads to remove glaze in prep for my track day this weekend (taking the Ty Howard Racing School)

Cleaned and greased caliper sliders. Used steel wool to get the bits of surface rust and general dry debris built up. I think at some point I got a bit of steel wool in my eye - it's red this morning and kinda hurts.

Nope - that Conti RA rear tire gave out on me after 5000 miles. I know there are a lot of RA fanatics here and there is no point arguing someone's "religion", but my experience did not pan out, I got 8500 miles from my previous Pilot Road, these 2 CT's will hopefully better that.

I know the road attacks used to be great..up to the late 2007, early 2008 run... since that time though I have heard a few cases of them not lasting as long as they used to....

So I wonder if it is an air pressure thing, a user driving thing, or... a shift in tire compound that has caused lower mileages...

In the spring I am going to throw these apparently good looking stock tires for something else.... I can't handle the ass end sliding around on engine braking and or just mild rear braking... and the crappy cornering.... the almost new stock tires are worse than almost bald bridgestones were on my 99 SV

Ran 36 psi on the PR's, but after hearing many claims of the RA's requiring higher pressure, I ran 38-39 psi on them for both the highway and the canyons. As far as riding - I rode the PR's hard just like I rode the RA's. However the RA had rubber peeling off of it after I had been running some high speeds consistently (imagine how the rubber on an eraser peels off when rubbed against paper).

All said and done, I tried them, I liked them for the most part except for the mileage - I need a tire which would give me much higher mileage, or I would have stuck with the Pilot Power's which gave me ~4000 miles before I switched to the PR's.

sprayed more bbq paint on the front header pipe (3rd time), lack of prep + too much paint + all the junk that the tire kicks up means after a month there's about a quarter sized section of metal showing again.

pic of the first time i painted it, this pipe was super ugly and i wasn't able to clean it properly(only tried simple green which did nothing, too lazy to try something else). lower fairing hides most of it now anyway.

Washed over a month's worth of dirt off her, then waxed her. Replaced the blown fuse for my LED accent lights, contemplated getting yellow headlights (again), then rode her for an hour to get back home. Not an exciting time together, but quality time just the same...

Went out to the garage this morning and looked at it, then continued my fundraising mission for a friend who was recently diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer. She needs me more right now than I need to ride.
