put on some road attack 2's

 

Dug it out of the snow (thank you DOWCO cover) warmed it up and took off the ugly front stock visor.

 

Put on some black derlin frame sliders to replace the chrome ones the bike came with.

 

1. Mounted a fresh new PP2CT on the back.
2. Lubed chain.
3. Fresh brake fluid front & back.
4. Fresh coolant.
5. Wheelied past neighbors to "test" everything afterward. Judging by the look they gave me, it's all good.

I'm ready for spring...

Replaced brake fluid
Cleaned her up and now we and ready for Sunday. Got everything else done that the wife could find for me to do. Near 70 tomorrow!!!! YEAH!!!!!!!

 

Took it in for the 14,500 mile service. I didn't feel like doing it myself so I paid someone else to do it. Well worth it IMO and lots of people at the dealership were talking to me and admiring my bike.

I like hanging around with motorcycle enthusiasts.

 

Put on a bt016 on front, bt023 on rear, fixed coolant leak(loose hose clamp )added some coolant and cleaned chain. Installed T-rex sliders as well.
I love the new tires...totally transformed the handling..turn in is much quicker, sticky like flypaper and comfort level is greater as well, compared to the OEM pilots.
Oil change next weekend...

 

Turned her on and let her run in place. Just got the carburetors cleaned twice because she sat for over a year. Trying to sell her, so I'm keeping her on her toes .

 

Front caliper rebuilds. All new parts. Pistons, seals, pad pins. Removed the pad springs for good.(most of the people I know on SV race bikes remove them.)

Motul RBF600 fluid.

Nice solid lever feel now, not the spongy feel I was getting.

 

Bleed my front brakes to a nice firm feel. Haven't ridden it yet so I will most likely have to adjust after the first ride.

 

Did you take a soft rubber mallet to the calipers and master to make sure you got all the tiny bubbles out?

Also, after your first ride, bleed it again. The ride will bring all the leftovers to the top.

 

Checked my front valves, all is well. One intake at .004 other is .005, exhaust is a matching .008. Wife's going to get groceries and get me some gasket sealant and I'll put it back together. Should go check the rear. With over a foot of snow on the ground, what's the rush. Can't leave it half finished though. Back to work.

 

Got my reflective rim stripes on.

I'm quite happy with the results.

Unloaded it back out of my truck after NOT getting to go on a planned ride up up in the NC hills due to injuring my freakin' EYE yesterday afternoon. No big deal... just got a grain of sand up under my eyelid while working up under a truck and it scratched my eye pretty good. Not recommended. The weather was AMAZING today too. Very bummed.

 

Within the last month... Sonic Springs install and fork oil change, Delkevic SS Stubby exhaust, Napoleon bar end mirrors, Tech Spec gripster pads, ordered cat o-rings for throttle lock after a miserable fail trying to get an NEP CC4 to work (that thing doesn't even come close to working with stock grips).

So jealous of you guys in the south. No riding for me for a good long time. 2 feet of snow pack and looks like more on the way for Connecticut. When's April again?

 

Fork seals, bushings, etc. Next up is rearset riser plates.

First thing I noticed was that it's an SV1000 and then I noticed that there's no oil in the filler window.

 

When SV's are on the side stand, you had better NOT see oil in the window.

 

I started it, looked at it, made sure the battery was still good, then shut it off. :-[

Wow, im amazed the way she did it.
Finding my center of gravity that low (when i first bought it i put a handlebar and risers for an upcoming trip) whas the most challenging thing to do while riding on that twisty road. But i guess ill need more miles on it and do some suspension tweak cuz it kinda sucks the feeling im getting with my gxsr front end and 07 zx10 rearshock.
Delkevic mini 8" hahaha funny stuff, great and agressive sound but it was backfire's festival on every gear in deacceleration Kinda love it when sun goes down or inside a 4miles tunel where i was going. Woah, too lound

I installed Steve's aTre.

 

Installed the polished dual M4 exhaust cans on my SV1000 tonight. They look sweet and they sound amazing! Me likey a lot!

 

About a month ago installed gsxr mirror/signal then last weekend installed flushmounts for extra visibility from the side.

 

Installed the new unbent subframe and cleaned up the tail wires
Noticed the headlight bulb I installed burned out. Prolly got some oil on it when I swapped it from the donor headlight. Good thing i have a spare.
