Just thought this would be a cool new topic. If there is already one in existence please let me know so I can delete this one, or a mod can do it. As for me I finished my under tail project and rode the crap out of it.

Had my seat refoamed and recovered. The stock seat was killing me. I took it to a guy who does restorations, mostly, but also does seats. He built up the back corners to make it flat across the back 1/3 of the seat. He covered it with a non-skid fabric (usually used for dirt enduro bikes).

Took it for a 100+ miles and am really pleased.

Oh yeah, I also put on some black reflective tape on the frame.

I washed and waxed my sv. Then I slaped a Tank pad on. It was 4 dollars with free shipping on ebay. That beats the hell out of 20.00 out of parts unlimited. Then did a little bit of ridding before work.

Took the gas tank off & had it's interior cleaned.... particulate was floating around in the gas, but I was in denial and just didn't want to deal with it. I hadda go back a couple times because they didn't do a good/complete job. What could have been a $150 boil out, protective lining, and the exterior primered, turned into a $75 quote to clean the interior of the tank at a radiator shop.... but he ended up charging me $40....

In the process, I found a vent hose disconnected that may have contributed to gas leaking through the gas cap. This also gave me a chance to check for the vent tube as being broken off or intact.

Bummer is, the radiator shop dude lost a fitting that snaps a fuel line in place on the bottom of the tank. It seems to snug in place rather securely, but I won't feel good until I can replace that gizmo that secures it correctly. I can't help but wonder how difficult it'll be to buy just that little nylon insert without having to buy an entire fuel line with the complete fitting.

Added biXenon HID's & a Wolo BadBoy (same as the Stebel compact nautilus) air horn. For a supposedly entry-level bike I was pleased with the build quality and ease of the fairing removal. 15 min had the whole windscreen/ headlight assembly on the workbench and I hadn't done it before. Now I can see and be heard!

Any interest in pictures?

I have my SV too rode it to work today... and the weekend before last I also got a Triumph... and it is green too... too bad I can't ride it though...

Mine looks retro too... because it is... The one I got a 1957 Triumph Tiger 110

My dad has no time to restore it so I picked it up.. and well.. I have neither the time and cash right now either... so I stored over in my sister's garage for the time being... better than it going off to some weasel looking to part it out or something

Wouldn't mind getting one of the new Bonnies though... looks are similar but technology is just a weeeee bit more complex now.

Can you believe it though.... the bike has been sitting in storage since 1969... there was still some air in the inner-tubes... and the tires took and held air.... after nearly 40 years!!!

I would have thought for sure the tubes would have rotted away to powder or at least would be cracked all to hell.. but nope..

Hopefully though... this is what mine will look like when done... granted the pic is of a '58 but it is close enough

2 coats of wax. cleaned and adjusted the chain. tried bending the reat seat cowl bracket so the cowl itself would sit more flush and tight. the filler pieces fit better but the cowl itself isn't any better. i've got like a half inch gap all around and the back part of it sticks up/out a lot. any ideas how to fix this gap? i've seen some that have hardly no gap.

I changed my shifter to GP style for easier upshift feel. It is amazing if you remember what way your shifting. I had one down shift on accident so far. I also installed a 2 port usb charger under the gas tank under the frame rail so i can plug in things like my gps and iphone. Good day so far, need to order grip heaters.
