Went poking around the low roads that are "Closed" from the recent flooding in Paintertown, Ardara and Trafford to survey the damage from the flooding a few weeks ago. Got yelled at by a cop for squeezing between the signs that said "Road Closed" and "Do Not Enter" ;D

Made me realize that even though I had almost $1,000 in damage in my basement and garage, I got off light compared to many around me. There are people who are still cleaning up almost a month later.

I only added some decals to the track bike today. I'm still waiting on my SVRider.com stickers (*pokes Stew*)

It's also waiting to be picked up and taken to NHMS where I will actually get to ride it for the first time. I CANNOT WAIT TO RIDE THIS BIKE!!
what kind of bright yellow battery is that? and lube that chain!!

Disconnected my tach signal wire, partially reassembled the bike (upper side fairings still off) and took it out for a test ride. Front cylinder seems to be firing, so maybe the problem was an intermittently shorting tach.

Let's hope.

Changed the rear brake fluid, oil, air filter and antifreeze. Also, tightened and cleaned the chain.

Modified my home-brew swing-arm stand to work with my Motosliders swing-arm sliders. When I first made the stand I just cut a "v" in the side of the square tube to hold the spool and it worked great! Always got compliments on my stand at track-days.

Now I had to make it have spool holders like all the expensive stands have, and once again I used material I had laying around so I still have $0 in this stand, just about 1.25 hrs time in this now. I need to make the silver spool holders flatter, but they were brackets for the tool-box wheels that I used for the stand, so they were curved. The stand works great, just making the holders flat would make scratching the swing-arm not so easy to do. Oh yeah, I need to primer & paint it again- it's starting to look rough again, but function>form right?

Installed some rearset riser plates yesterday. About 1 inch back and 1/2 inch up. Me likey. :)

cleaned and lubed the chain!!!

yesteday I removed radiator to clean and JB Weld. had a nice stream coming out of the front from being impaled by a pebble or something. hoping my happy thoughts will help cure and seal that hole.

hoping to flush and test out later today

Just did an oil change. Rotella T. And a OEM oil filter. A good clean tomorrow and a double check on the shifter I installed and she'll be ready to go.

remounted my "fixed" radiator and all the fun stuff that goes with doing that. let it idle up to 215 before shutting down, cleaned up re-checked the fluids and got her all dressed again. will be taking it out for a tes ride tomorrow after work. then start looking for a new radiator :dontknow:

Got home with shim stock so I could install my new Yosh TRS. I think the SV650 is a particularly loud bike. It's louder than my ZX-14 with a TRS. I am going to test it with a Radio Shack sound dB meter tomorrow and see what I get.

Got it together in time for a sunset ride. Man it was nice out. Just enough clouds to make the sky orange. I love the smell of a new exhaust.

Had the bike 11 days now and between the Corbin and the Yosh I'm really starting to like this bike.

Nice videos Lost1888!

I installed the Intimidators Saturday and I test rode the bike Sunday. I was very impressed with how my bike rides now! I posted it Sunday in the Ricor thread, forgot to post here, lol. :D

I had my SV for 2 years and of all the things I have done with the bike, the Intimidators are by far the best mod that I have made to my bike. ;D

Riding with the goofy, stock suspension for a couple years can teach you to be pretty smooth so when you move to good suspension, your habits cause you to be REALLY smooth. That's been my experience, at least - I got fast on old, SV forks and rear shock and then upgraded it all so I *think* I'm quite a bit faster now.

Makes sense.
