Just thought this would be a cool new topic. If there is already one in existence please let me know so I can delete this one, or a mod can do it. As for me I finished my under tail project and rode the crap out of it.

Today (and yesterday, and I guess last weekend) I cleaned the carbs (thanks ziptech), painted my radiator guard, installed LED tail lights, new LED tag light, 636 shock, modified my battery tray, installed a new clutch cable, installed an R6 throttle tube with new D3 grips, removed my wheels to get powdercoated, painted my rear brake caliper, took off the old chain and sprockets, and cleaned anything I could get to, mostly with carb cleaner, god I love that stuff.

Saturday I get to install my pretty new wheels, hook up the chain, paint the handlebars then re-install them with the other new grip, toss in my new air filter and put the tail and exhaust back on. Might even paint the front calipers if I get ambitious...

I took my first ride!! I am actually having trouble typing with all of the adrenaline. Not to mention it's about 35 degrees outside, even geared up my hands are shot. I just took it around the neighborhood, I may have gotten up to 30mph or so. What a rush. The bike sounds awesome, feels awesome, I was a little rusty at first but got back into the swing of things. I am going to stay in the neighborhood and out of traffic for a while, at least until after the MSF course on April 7th, but man what a great start!

I've been on a spending spree since a blizzard gave me a day off from work and all I thought about was riding all day. New Gel Grips arrived, mirror extenders are in the mail and I have some other goodies on the shelf waiting for install, unfortunately she's parked 30 minutes away at the brother-in-laws for the winter. City Living in the northeast... won't keep her outside in the winter and can't afford my own garage in the city just for the SV.

May have to plan a family dinner this weekend and ignore everyone but my baby.

Been riding nonstop. Eat it! ;D

seriously though..
replaced my progrips with rizoma black-anodized aluminum grips, and some very nice, matching Graves barends. Looks great, feels great, rotation to full throttle is shorter because I used the larger throttle disk. I thought it would be more unruly, but it's actually easier to ride like that. I still need to take pics. they'll be up in my build thread.

removed the Puig windscreen I had on there, replaced it with the factory short screen. I think it looks better with a short front end. I'm thinking about removing the headlight surround and windscreen altogether.

I have an 06-07 zx10r rear shock (I actually have three) that I'll be installing after I receive the plasti-dip that I ordered to coat the spring yellow (or possibly metallic brilliant copper).

I have a gaggle of other random parts that are sitting around, or they are soon to arrive. black-anodized windscreen spikes, undertail with integrated turn/stop LED's, a bunch of 1-watt 70-lumen and 3-watt 90-lumen LED's to replace the dim LED's that came in ALL my aftermarket lights plus the correct resistors (I decided the 250-lumen LED's that I found were probably, ya know, WAY too bright), techspec snakeskin tank grips, etc, etc...

I installed a Delkevic pipe on my bike. Took less than an hour from UPS delivery to all the tools put away. I got the long, oval version.

This pipe replaced the PO gutted stocker. All of the outlet part was removed and the deepest baffle plate was torn/drilled/mangled.

I replaced the modded stocker to get something quieter, but I was shocked to find that my bike is noticeably faster with the Delkevic running the baffle! The power is more crisp and the entire power band is fatter. The motor revs better, too. My guess was that the bike was too lean with the exhaust opened up.

I'm really happy with this mod. Less noise, more power!

I recently installed a stock exhaust to replace my mufflerectomied-exhaust. The bike definitely feels snappier down low and generally more powerful everywhere. If only I could have a quiet, light, aftermarket can.

blah, Marchesini Wheels, blah

Oh my sweet jeebus....nothing like aftermarket wheels to sex up any bike.

Swapped out some .85 kg Sonic Springs for some .95's, tuned the emulators, and put in new 20w fork oil to compensate for me being ~100lb more than my bike's previous owner.
That bike looks familiar....

I've been getting an intermittent vibration that seems to me to be one of the cylinders firing funny. It only happens once in a while.

So I thought I would do the basics first and check nuts and bolts that might have loosened. None were loose. I'm due for a plug change, so I'll do that this weekend.

I guess I'll have to ride it some more and figure out what's going on.

Much more solid front end now, but I can't test it out for a couple days. It's F-ing snowing outside in March.

Putting in a brand new double clicker Elka on Thursday! It arrived at my door a couple days ago just haven't had the time to put it in yet. Im hoping its a smooth job, Im not the most mechanically inclined person but im going to give it a shot. Thanks to Blair for hooking it up! It will go great with the new sonic springs and emulators that Robert "racinteach" put in for me! Its been an expensive month, but im happy!

Well crap. I'll ride it and see how it does, but at least fork oil is cheap enough to experiment with.
