rode to work in the rain and finally confirmed that my o-ring/dielectric grease solution solved my 325 problem...woohoo! Found out my cheap rain pants stretched in the crotch and leaked so I showed up at work with a soaking crotch...nice.

 

I spent 4 hours taking apart the tail and the installing the evotech fender elimination kit. pain in the ass but looks great. trying to figure out how to mount this mini fairing now. anyone have any hints?

 

it was a yucky ride in this morning...rain and wind and cars and buses.

 

3 coats of wax on both of my helmets, need to do the actual bike now haha

After being covered and sitting in the corner of the garage, today I put the battery back in it and started it up! Vrooom!!!! Oh, how I have missed that sound! Spring aproacheth!!!

 

Built simulator for elimination of Secondary Throttle Valve system.
Will allow removal/elimination of STV components - plates, spindles, motor, STPS, linkage, fast idle etc

Particularly effective if going with overbore throttle bodies.

I did a long ride for over two hours. took some pics too then added to my finished thread. Man this thing handles so good after getting used to it. I always knew my rear shock was too stiff but now it is just right.

 

Did my valve adjustments today and put everything together ready to do a tb sync. Maybe tomorrow. Had some help from Danimal and Chevellefan. Wasn't really that bad at all, took a while but next time it's going to be a breeze. One of these days I make a little write up on it. Just been to busy lately.

**** dude, nice work. I did my check tonight. Like you said, no problems once we figured out which cams are supposed to be oriented which way. Also had a 'duh' moment and tried to read the wrong markers on the feeler gauges which led to about 2 minutes where I thought my valves were way out of spec. Once we got over those speedbumps, it was a breeze and fortunately everything was in spec. As far as I know, that's the first time they've been checked at 26k.

Also changed the plugs.

I finally had my brother weld my modified lowered kick stand during the Hawaii tsunami drama. After the tsunami warning was canceled, I installed the 1.25" rear lowering dogbones and kick stand. Plan to test handling Monday since I have to help the brother with his '10 Camaro.

 

rode it today, got to try out my new AGV helmet - fits great and has minimal wind noise. then pulled the front sprocket cover and cleaned all the gunk up in there. sometimes i feel like the clutch is dragging in first gear so i set everything up to adjust it and then it won't act like it normally does - ofcourse. also got my rear signals to work with the CA integrated tail light, must have been doing something goofy but they work now.

 

Mounted the '05 GSXR 1000 rear shock on my ABS model. Worked like a charm ;D

 

I rode mine 100 miles today - and realized that my new Delkevic exhaust is a little louder than I thought. It sounds REAL good - but possibly a little louder than I want. I don't think it was that loud the first ride I took with it. Do these things "break in" and get louder with a little use? Anyway, I may try it with a drilled silencer.

I also realized that my battery is weak. It's the original - been in use since Feb '04 when I bought the bike - so it's about time. I pulled it out and plan to pick up a new one tomorrow.

I added some coolant to the overflow tank, adjusted the chain, cleaned it and lubed it. Then I took a short ride down the canyon and back.

By the way, any service that requires lifting the tank is made sooooooooo much easier when you have cool quick release tank pins!

How much easier can it be? You've already got the tools out to take off the sidecovers and the seat.

Installed my new custom fender eliminator and wired up the license plate light and new signals for the rear. Its finally all but finished, just waiting for this dam snow to melt some more! Maybe a ride this week?

 

Chopped my two brothers exhaust and painted it using bbq black paint. Ordered some black exhaust wrap as well. Cant wait to hear the shortened exhaust. Will post pics once I put it back on the bike.
