What did you do to your SV today? (mods, farkles, maintenance, etc)

Just thought this would be a cool new topic. If there is already one in existence please let me know so I can delete this one, or a mod can do it. As for me I finished my under tail project and rode the crap out of it.

Hey, wow, I got to ride the last two days. The SV got taken out of storage, I checked the tire pressure and we went for a 50 mile ride. It was about 35* and most of the roads here in the boonies were soaking wet and really dirty.

Today, I finished my home made heated vest and tested it out. Wow. I'm blown away! Comfort at 34*. I rode 30 miles on mainly wet roads and it was starting to get dark. Toasty and so comfy. It's almost like cheating.

I need to install an on/off switch, but it's really ok without it. I used my grip heaters on low, Hippo Hands (with summer gloves on), the new vest and it was total comfort. I will be ok well below 30* with this setup. I wasn't freezing cold after the ride like I normally would be. This is another great piece of cold weather gear that makes a huge difference. Since I commute on my bike, weather allowing, this is really going to be a big help.

I'm going to post vest pics and tech info later in the week.

I couldn't stand my guilt anymore, so I finally put the SV on stands, filled the tank with stabilized gas and then ran it till it was through a couple of heat cycles. Switch off, put some rags in the tail pipes gave it a pat and am now waiting for slightly nicer weather to start winter mods.

It's gonna be a loooong 3 months!

Glad your guilt finally bested you :) But better late than never!

I feel your pain though, usually around this time of year I get the itch to ride like crazy. Planning mods and getting the parts together helps to stave off complete SV withdrawl!

P.S. Maybe an Edmonton SV rally is in order for this coming summer...

Took of my brand new 2 brothers slip on, so I can send it back bacause it has a leak. After 2 weeks of fighting with customer service. Because their exhausts do not leak from the can.
I hate to complain I know they make quality stuff. Just happened to get a bad one. But customer service dont need to have attitudes!

Last night I tuned everything engine-wise to a gnats a$$
One tight exhaust valve. Both TP sensors were off a little. The 2ndaries stayed in sync. The primaries were a hair out of sync, and I mean just a hair. Nothing was that far off.

I took it for a spin today to make sure all is good (after not having ridden it for awhile). Quite a noticeable difference. It pulled hard. And smooth.

Could have been the one tight valve more than anything, but the sum of everything together > individual parts. A machine in good tune is just... beautiful.

Was told that my winter mods have shown up to the house.. will be installing them this weekend when I get back to the states.

Bought:

Pazzo shorties
Carbon Fiber Instrument gauge cover
Carbon Fiber Triple crown cover
GiPro w/aTre
Ratchet Straps for transporting her

Haven't ridden her since the summer, so hopefully it warms up by the end of the week.

I cleaned connections for brake light on Givi case, changed the oil and filter, replaced my warped rear rotor with a used one from Ebay, lubed the chain and added injector cleaner to my tank which I just filled up. Then took her for a ride around the block and to the store...rode by an accident where a little honda car thought he could fit under the rear of a semi trailer and failed. Feels so nice to use my rear brake and not feel any lurching...woohoo! Now I just gotta clean her and make her shiny and happy again.

finally got to actually work on it today. pulled a litle bracket off on the sub frame, between the rear set and the subframe. it was like faded black/brown and i painted it silver. 6 coats and it nearly matches it perfect.

made sure my gsxr shock was going to fit. pulled a little fender thing off to make for more room, also pulled the clutch side passenger peg off for the same reason. it will either be tomorrow or tuesday that i get the new one in.

My daughters have dropped several things into my exhaust, most notably golf balls (3 of them) and on a seperate occasion a disposable lighter. I had no clue they were in there. So (with the golf balls), I go out to start the bike for the ride to work and it is bogging bad, I blip the thottle, still bogging, so I crack the throttle and I hear POOF, POOF, POOF. And look behind me to see two white and one neon green golf ball bouncing down the street. It must have launched them a good 100 yards. The lighter was good too, same thing, go out to warm the bike up for the ride to work and as I am walking back to the garage door I hear a LOUD bang, first thing I think is something catastophic just broke, but it is still humming along fine at a fast idle, so I crack the throttle and out flies the metal top to the lighter and assorted, half melted pieces of plastic. Now I stuff a rag in there when I know the girls will be playing in the front with the garage open. Fun Times!!

Just tightened up a few things, put the back axle in,i was looking into making my own. But my penski 8987 is sitting pretty, made a nice light bracket/clamp for the resevoir. I should start on a matching exhaust bracket and loose the passenger peg on that side too. I was amazed at how heavy the stock left passenger peg was. I think the temps supposed to go into the 40's in a couple of days, i may do my ss rear brake line at that point.

i mounted my power commander under the rear seat. it was always just sitting there flopping around, over big bumps i could hear it bouncing around. i was able to stand it vertical, almost directly under the plastic piece between the front and rear seat. put some adhesive velcro on the plastic piece and another on the module itself and voila. fits perfect and won't be bouncing around.
