I learned not to give a hex key to my GF... At least she said the bolt was hard to turn and I was able to stop her before any real damage was done (cross threaded of course). And installed the Fusion LED kit.

made a ghetto axle mount license plate mount because trying to mount it under my tail was a bad idea.

I put the peg feeler on the ground at a pseudo track on Camp Pendleton. Scared the crap outta me the first time. Glad I wasn't on the street trying that junk, I'da ended up int he sidewalk.
I did that today too...got tired of tearing up the toe of my boot...lol. But I do it on the offramp of the 41N at Children's Hospital/Ave 9. The last part of the offramp starts to level out a bit early, so I always anticipate pushing a little more near the last 1/4 of the turn. Think I need to buy pants and pucks now...

The ZX14 shock that arrived yesterday was installed tonight. Wasn't particularly difficult, but the installation requires removing a plastic shield that goes in front of and under the battery box to make room for the ZX14 reservoir. The shield is held on by 3 screws and the one facing the back of the gas tank is very, very hard to get to.

I pulled the battery and the liner that the battery sits on. With the battery out, I could get a better view of the situation. It ended up that I needed the room for my hands to reach into the dark and cramped phillips screw lair.

I tried everything I could cob together to try to get at the screw and loosen it. After about an hour of this amusement, I remembered that the first two screws were not at all tight, so I took a different tack.

I put a phillips head bit in a 1/4" drive socket and contorting my fingers in impossible ways, managed to get the screw out with just finger power, no ratchet or anything.

After that, everything was simple and straight forward. The shock went in no sweat.

It's done. I might ride it to work tomorrow if it's warm enough and not raining.

It's in!! WOOT!!

I haven't gone there yet, but getting on 168 EB from EB Bullard is pretty fun.

Rode to Target, had to exchange ink cartridge for printer - it did not see it. I bought 2 last time I was there so the other cartridge was good. Then went to the beach, then rode to Santiago and Live Oak canyons.

The back end of Live Oak was closed? There was a policecar, firetruck and 2 tow trucks there, not sure what happened.

So you got it? Congrats. Impressions?
Just a short ride, lightest handling I've ever felt, all you have to do is THINK about turning!
But it runs like crap, VERY slow returning to idle speed, not a cable or linkage problem as they operate freely. Taking it to Honda of Norfolk. I've known Dave Hunter for over 30 years. I trust him to fix it right & charge a fair price.
It looks great. All 3 rotors are very worn, though. Going to see about having them turned.
I'll PM you when it's time to go for a ride.

my first mod today. I have frame sliders sitting in the garage for another day.

i did the plug and play tre. easy, but not much space under the tank to work.

seems to pull slightly harder at the low rpm, but that could be placebo.

Well, it is 24 years old. You weren't expecting perfect, were you? Should be fairly easy, if not really cheap fixes. At least that will give you time to get your plates.

I rode mine to and from work today. It rained all afternoon, so at least most of the pollen got knocked off.

New Dunlop RoadSmart tires on the bike today, oil change, and adjusted my idle down a little bit. It was idling kinda high, 1500rpm-ish. Hooked up an inductive RPM clamp on a multimeter, and adjusted down to 1300rpm idle.

how do you like the roadsmarts? I've only had mine for a couple hundred miles, but I'm VERY happy so far!

For the 15 miles I put on them from school to home tonight after changing them at school, they are good so far.

This weather here in Michigan has been horrible lately. Hasn't afforded me much chance to get out and ride as much as I'd like to.

BUT, it already feels better than when I had a Tomahawk on the front.(came on the bike) The Tomahawk was slick as hell. Felt like the front end wanted to wash out every time I'd get hit by a gust of wind when I was going over 35mph. NEVER will I run Tomahawk tires on any bike again.

On Friday of last week I loaded up th SV abd drove to Lousiana from Los Angeles. The SV made it great on a carrier I made from parts from harbor freight and work. I ended up using some extra srtaps to help hold the load better. I bought the wheel chock for 40 and the cargo carrier for 60 and the alum decking I got from work. Here are some of the pics of the SV loaded behind my truck.

I live in Norfolk, too, and not one drop of rain has fallen in several days, nor has weather radar shown any rain.... you must have a long commute to work!!!
