Took off my recently-installed sticky clutch lever (causing slipping clutches without...manual...return of lever to open), figured out where it was binding, took the dremel to it. Reinstalled. Works perfectly now.

I love dremels.

 

Removed the rear wheel, battery box and shock for maintenance.

Did a little adjusting on the suspension and test rode it for a few hours. If I didn't have to go to work I'd still be test driving. Tomorrow clean an lube the chain and more testing.

 

low speed dropped it going around a turn right near my work. first time for it and me being down. joy and rapture. i'm fine, my pride is hurt. now i need a few parts but nothing too major.

pffft cold... wow what a girlie-mon 90 is 32 celcius... I will swim in 18-25c water and am only a little chilled... riding in the rain at 32? come on... cold??

even if you.. yourself were the one that was naked riding the bike, 32 at 100mph wouldn't even be cold

 

Finally got around to installing new spark plugs and replacing what had to be the factory coolant with Engine Ice at 9,000 miles. Had to yank out the overflow tank and hose it out and scrub the inside with a brush to get it clean... man that things a itch get out of there!

 

Went for a ride on a little 80 mile loop near home to brake in my new Cortech gloves. Very nice! Also stopped and had a coffee along the way. Remember never to get coffee from that same girl again. Pathetic!

 

Installed my new folding gear shift lever. Roughed up the engine mount nut trying to install sliders

 

I changed the oil last night.
Put Rotella T in (for the first time).

Now I can power wheelie in 4th...

 

Swapped out my 32k mile, 5yr old regulator/rectifier for one from an '05 model. Took it out for a ride to put it through its paces to make sure it's working correctly. It'll really just be a guess.

Checked the R6 throttle tube's opening/closing functions per zokamba's recommendation - seems to be go fully open and closed. However, I did learn that my rear throttle plate is not opening entirely but I don't want to adjust it because I'll have to adjust the TPS again... no thanks!

 

I noticed that as well.. but even before the r6... it may be the way the bike is... in pictures I've seen and the Fiche they seem to usually show it a bit open on the back throttle body... not sure why...

Bought new turnsignals. One of my current ones spit it's lens out. They'll be going on tonight.

 

Laid it down on the side in slow motion.... after stopping on sloped road.

Couple tiny scratches on handle bar... you live, you learn.

 

Put a signal tripping magnet on the bottom of the bike.....need to go out tonight and see if it trips the signals!

 

Heavy maintenance today around the Rock Dodger Compound: I lubed the chain. ;D

How are you finding the Stock SV1000 snorkel over the SV650 stock snorkel?

Mine seems to like it.. perhaps a little better than running no snorkle at all... and miles better than that coffee straw thing they call a stock SV650 snorkel

i am learning as i go....

the N has 2 conections that are the same. i'm pretty sure its the same wiring harness as the s model. it should be for the second light... only one way to find out

 

If you try to put power to both of those you will burn out the bulb......2 wires are for positive and negative.....since the blinker is rubber mounted it needs a wire ground. Unless you can see that the bulb has 2 filaments and the wires are 3 in number....1 neg, 1 turn positive, 1 running positive......

I installed my LSL handlebar kit on my GSXR front on the new to me bike. I lasted about 2 days with stock GSXR clip ons and 2 weeks with TLS clip ons. I just like bars better.

 

State inspection passed. Cleaned & lubed chain. Sea Foam treatment into oil, then changed oil & filter with fresh Rotella 15w-40 dino squeezins. Put the Suzuki fender eliminator back on. Replaced rear cowl. Cleaned & checked spark plugs. Sea Foam into gas tank to clean injectors. Polished, cleaned, shined front to rear.

Then the best part. I rode the snot outta her. ;D

 

TBone and I rode 278 miles through Ohio, West Virginia and SW PA. Ran into some guys from Cleveland on a M900, Ninja 650, and a Duc Streetfighter. Then ran into Mr. Dirt and his friend from on the board. Hit the wear bars on my rear tire. Scared the **** outta myself when the rear hit a patch of gravel at full (for me) lean. Fell in love with my little girl's bike all over again.
