Just thought this would be a cool new topic. If there is already one in existence please let me know so I can delete this one, or a mod can do it. As for me I finished my under tail project and rode the crap out of it.

Finished my Easton bar install, and found that my 1900-mile clutch cable has somehow stretched too far. (I maxed both adjusters and still stall the bike hard with the lever against the grip when I click down.) Plus I realized that I cannot make my Motrax barend mirrors look good without opening the slots for the the ball ends.

Under "gonna do to my SV" I'm picking up some AL strap so that I can delete the rear grab handle. I'll never 2up the sucker anyway....off to cable shop.

Edit: The stalling was a sidestand issue....fixed now.

Replaced the stock grips with some thick, comfy cruiser-style Pro Grip gel ones, filled up our CamelBaks, rode to the local Japanese buffet, rode another 100 miles, which marked 600 mi since our last chain cleaning. I proceeded to clean/lube my chain, then showed my wife how to clean/lube her chain so I don't have to do it.

Today was the first time I got to test my new Rollastand, which allows me to clean and lube my chain without laying my bike on its side. It's useful for my wife's bike, too... despite the fact that she has a center stand, it doesn't raise the wheels up off the ground. What good is a center stand that doesn't elevate the bike?

Washed it, and made some ghetto-fabulous spacers for the little rear reflectors so I would have mounting points for the cargo net. I didn't have any spacer stock, so I used what was left from reshafting my utility wood a couple weeks age. Now I have carbon-fiber cargo net mounts. Take that Duc-lovers! ;D

I also finally knuckled under and bought some T-handle hex wrenches and a 12mm hex socket, the latter so I can upgrade my forks. The parts have only been sitting in my garage since March. The only 12mm hex I could find was part of a set. What the hell am I ever going to need a 14 or 17mm hex for?

I wanted to check the condition of my front sprocket and while I had the cover off, I cleaned up the funky grungy mess left by lots of chain lube and all the stuff that sticks to it. Gross. But now it's uber clean. But nobody can see it. :'(

Measured the chain slack and lubed the chain. Raised the shift lever 1/8".

Nothing yet. Waiting on my new shock but I did take my friends Kawi ZX14 out for a heck of a ride yesterday. Nice acceleration. Think I have some poor guy a complex, though. LOL. He pulled up next to me at a stop sign on a Yamaha R6 and looked over with a bewildered look on his face. LOL. We took off at the same time but I went through the gears so fast I left him in the dust. Didn't see him on the freeway for quite some time. :)

changed out some old dino for some Rotella synth... trying out a wix filter too... but think I may go back to suzuki ones... they just seem to be made better... but who knows... as long as they do the job and don't leak... I guess they are ok...

seems to shift ok though...

now it is parked back in the parkade parking stall

Fed it my blood after banging my knuckles against the radiator.

Also:
- replaced corroded bolts for the lower triple that pinch the fork tubes
- cut some new spacers for the fork tubes and installed them
- filed down a washer that was a little too big to fit inside the tube thanks to one apparently lost by the P.O. (ugh, took awhile)
- completed chain maintenance & tightening
- installed rearset risers after getting annoyed at the left rearset bolts that had seized
- switched to GP shift
- went back to the stock seat as I'm sending in my Sargent to get built up taller
- replaced reflectors (I like my bike seen at night, thanks Ranger!)
- replaced rear light bulbs
- realized my speedo light is out (WTF, all my lights go at the same time it seems)
- admired the melted edges of my tires

Then took it out for a spin up Pacific Coast Highway and back down Sunset before sunset.

I rode to Columbus with a friend to a local forum meet and greet. Then we meet up with another rider and rode 266 miles toward home. It was an awesome ride. Hot and Humid! I think the first 90+ degree day all summer in my neck of the woods. Total miles are 489.1 and trip time was 15 hrs. That's pretty good for me. We took a lot of stops for water and went in BK and bought a drink and something to eat. Mostly for the Ac.;) Otherwise, Great day, Great ride!

rode up to a few lakes with some harleys. they're no fun to ride with. they go wayyyyyyyyyy too slow through the mountain passes that are perfect for the SV. i made it all the way over the pass and turned around and did it again, passed them going the opposite direction, and then turned around again and did it a 3rd time!

ditched them as the day went on though. didn't want to ride on the freeway in a straight line for a ways.

bled front brake and now have decent brakes again. Then tested and did first couple of stoppies, yeah that was fun.

Spent all morning trying to find an allen wrench to fit the front axle, so I could replace the speed sensor. Never did find one, so I tried to find a bolt with a 12mm head, didn't find one of those either. They were all either 10 or 13mm nothing in between:mad:, so now I'm just going to order one.

Also cleaned, lube and adjusted the chain.

No AutoZone around here:( the closest one I think is about 40mi away. I went to Orielly's, Advanced Auto, Lowes, Napa, and both of the hardware stores here in town.

I just ordered a allen socket from McMaster Carr for $11
