still collecting parts, and sellin' the parts I can't use!!!! (on the wera board, `cause I don't have enough posts on here!)
took delivery of an `06 gsxr600 frontend, and wheel last week, and an f3 rear wheel, still sourcing parts and trying to find a sweet tail section for it, it's a track only racer, and or track day bike.

Mine are doing the same.

I think I am going to just buy stompgrips.
Yeah, I had mine on less than a year (purchased through the SVR group buy), and it kept slipping. I used a heat gun to move them back, but they keep slipping back down.

I contacted TechSpec and this is what they said:

Once the adhesive has lost its sticky-ness there is no way to replace it, the film is shot. Since you've had the pads for such a long time we would like to offer you a 25% discount on your next purchase. Your a returing customer and we value your support. Since you can't fix the previous pads we want to make it easier for you to replace your old ones. Let us know what you think and we'll get you started.

Needless to say, I now only have a single tank pad on left. I'm not falling for that again.

Also removed Techspec pads because they were sliding off the tank and leaving glue behind.

I had TechSpec pads, too. LOVED them...for about a month, when the pad material started peeling away from the adhesive layer. I contacted TechSpec, and they said they had changed glue suppliers or something, and that a lot of users had the same issue, so they sent me a brand new set...I ended up leaving the old set on for almost a year, until they looked so raggety that I couldnt stand it anymore. Installed the new set, and they did the exact same thing. I've done without anything since then...but I went for a long ride today and was wishing I had had some kinda tank grip.

I really liked the feel of the TechSpecs, but there's no way I'm going to buy another set, considering the adhesive problems I had. I'm thinking about trying out the Stomp Grips myself.

Stompgrips will give you almost 2 years if not over that before they start flapping in the wind from the front edge.

I am looking into purchasing a can of 3M adhesive to see if I can get another year or two from them.

When I did my research on Tech Spec, I heard the same complaints from some racers that I know. Since I already have the pedantic and anal shock rep, I just kept my mouth shut and shook my head and left the topic alone. Especially with the uber-defensive group buy group.

*shrugs*

Cons against Stompgrips ...

Make sure that tank paint is C L E A N with no wax residue on it. I did three ammonia washes and let it dry 24 hours for the second set to stick. The left side came off the first time. Now it is the right side and it is 3.5 years later.

Does wonders keeping the weight off my wrists and very light hands on the grips.

Rode to Ortega Hwy with 2 ocmoto guys to the Ducati Hypermotard Demo Day. Those bikes are awsome!

Rode it like the SV, just using the throttle hardly used the brake at all. And to test ride it in the canyons vs. the streets, oh man that was fun! ;)

If I could only afford one...:(

A few hot rods stopped at Hell's Kitchen.

Buford stopped by.

Custom Busa.

I read the manual. Took the wife and daughter out shopping (rainy day, so good timing) so I took the manual with me to learn some stuff, while parked in a coffee bar with nice furniture to sit on.

I picked up a 2006 SV naked yesterday (totally immaculate) and I need to brush up on the finer points like all of the warning lights, resettable trip odometers, chain slack and tire pressure info. Hopefully the 40% chance of rain won't mess up the day tomorrow, so I can go out and ride the new beauty.
