I bolted in a new regulator/rectifier - but need to order some plugs to make it work

- Put my nice new Spencer modded seat on.
- Cleaned the rust off some bolts for the motech rack
- Rewired a few small things
- Removed the handguards (left the attachment points)
- SVR/DCSB.net stickers on the car

 

New Sylvania bulbs too ... didn't know the OEM were Osram/Sylvania.

 

Mounted, balanced, and reinstalled the rear tire then went up and down my road in a series of tight low speed turns to scrub up the new tire. I went up a size with the Continental Road Attack 190/50/15. It drops into the turns alot quicker and smoother than the Dunlop Sportmax Qualifier.

Added steve's TRE, preformed an snorkelectomy, and "shimed the front of the tank. All told about 10 mins. of work and well worth every second.;D

 

Rode to the HB doughnut shop this morning.

Then headed to ACH!

The Shell station at ACH and 210 Fwy. Darrin got pulled over on the 605 Fwy said he had to pull out to get gas, the cop let him go. Yay!

Short break at Newcombs, Darrin got pulled over again about a 1/2 mile before Newcombs and got a speeding ticket, no turn signals and for his license plate.

Darrin didn't stay for lunch, he left for home.

Lith went back on ACH, some guys got on the 15 Fwy and headed home, and the rest of us took the 138 / 18 home. On the 18 we passed this:

The truck went over the rail and landed on the road below. Someone put a blanket over the other side, the driver did not survive.

Rode US129/Deals Gap & Cherohala Skyway 2-up with my wife. Got wet on the Skyway, very wet. Have another few hundred miles planned to tomorrow then prolly gonna ride up and down the Gap on sunday then head for home.

Love reading your ride reports, and the pictures are always great....still don't understand how it relates to "What did you DO to your SV today" but that's not the important thing....the important thing.....don't any of you actually "work" in Southern California? I see pictures of 10 guys riding their bikes around on a Friday....all day....I understand your laid off....and I hope you find a job soon....but don't these other guys have jobs?

I ordered an m4 carbon slip on. I'm curious, will I need a power commander for this slip on?

 

I'm not sure if i posted this yet or not,but, i repaired the threads that hold the seat on,mine have been deteriorating ,yesterday one of the bolts just kept spinning, i used a "timesert" so so much better than any other thread repair system, they're one piece and not a coil, they are shouldered so they don't spin through and tighten solidly,they come with a cutter that counterbores for the shoulder so they sit flush,and last ly there's a fluteless forming tap that finnishes the last few threads in the insert and expands the insert just a bit to wedge it into place in the new oversized threads. cool stuff.

I only added some decals to the track bike today. I'm still waiting on my SVRider.com stickers (*pokes Stew*)

It's also waiting to be picked up and taken to NHMS where I will actually get to ride it for the first time. I CANNOT WAIT TO RIDE THIS BIKE!!

Rounding up works against you. If you'd kept quiet, I'd believe you to not have had enough time to figure it out, but now you're pleading a "slow learner" case.

 

Oil change, and put in a K&N air filter.

 

Took a 3M pad & the Barkeepers Friend to the header to remove the crap & shined it up. That, and rode it half the day... which is really what I prefer to do with it.

 

I lubed the chain, burned some gas through mine, covered it in bug guts and did a GPS High speed run on a back country road with a nice long wide open view and no cops or other vehicles... I backed it down after I hit 215+kph indicated (GPS shows 198.4kph) :vroom:

It had some more in it.. as I was at just under 10,000RPM and I was not even close to fully tucked with a tank bag on and all and a bit of a head wind.... I bet that kinda blew my mileage tracking all out of wack

The rest of the day was puttering around mountain roads with my parents... had them riding my other Suzuki (the VZ800) D A M N that bike is loud ;D
And I thought my M4 was pretty loud... granted the Marauder is not Harley loud... but it is close... and fairly civil if you don't go wide open with it.
