Today (well, last night) was my 2nd time riding my 05 SV650S. First time was the the test drive that I did on a parking lot. My first experience after MSF.

I heard alot of things about the SV650S. Some people said it's better to start with a 250 or 500cc bike because the bike is too twitchy. Others said it's a geat beginner bike. On my testdrive before I bought it I didn't think the bike was twitchy at all so I decided to go for it.

And what an "adventure" I had last night, laid it down 3 times. First 2 times right outside the gate of my complex lmao.. Then another time making a U-Turn, all of a sudden too much throttle and laid it down. My shift lever broke off, the left rear signal partially broke off and some scrapes on the front fender. Luckily I had frame sliders to prevent more damage.

I guess it's all part of the learning process, just didn't expect it to happen so soon lol.
OUCH !!! Three times in one day :'(

Keep at it and take your time, just remember, easy on the throttle when taking off and taking turns. Better to be safe at first than end up hurt. Keep at it, you will get better and you can get some of those parts here when you need them.

I did alot of grinding to cut up the stock subframe, some riveting, and I'll be doing more grinding and riveting later...which will eventually lead to welding.

installed side fairings and some dim turns which are going bye-bye as soon as i get some different ones, also scored a set of cf. scorpion pipes for cheap just need to make a set of flanges to make them work.

Used UV dye yesterday to find my oil leak. Looks like a simple clutch cover gasket replacement should do it!

Rode about 550-600 miles Fri/Sat. Unloaded the bike last night in the rain. Did not ride this morning because of the rain and it being 45F.

Didn't do anything clever to mine, but I did get to ride home from work in daylight for the first time since about October, and just for once the roads were dry as well, though still covered in salt so a bit greasy. But still, days like this remind me why I ride ;D

Worked on shaping the plug for my rear
Um...

^ I can't believe we didn't catch that sooner. How's that plug going? haha
