Installed Intiminators (upgrades front forks) for those who don't know
New set of tires (Dunlop Roadsmarts)
And new shock (ZX-14) from a '09

Rode the bike a little bit....can't wait till next week (tuesday to be more exact) to actually test everything as I'll be doing a long ride.

 

hows the 2009 ZX14 Shock on your SV, I'm thinking about doing the same thing. Any install issues. Hows the ride??

 

I washed it really well, cleaned all over and under. Cleaned the chain and applied some new teflon chain lube. I love this bike!!!

 

Cleaned and put teflon on the chain, and checked the tire pressure. All ready for a nice long ride tomorrow.

 

Clear Clutch Cover.. yay!

 

Rode my SV to the HB doughnut shop to meet up with Tom and head to the BMW demo rides.

Met a chopper guy who rode with us to LB. Note right hand shift, he said its registered as a 68 but it might be earlier.

Tom on the S1000RR, they rolled it outside and revved it up periodically.

A guy we met at the BMW dealer.

Sarah the hot BMW demo girl (she rides) with me and the R1200GS that I rode.



Edit: here is the R1200GS that I rode, duh!

Also rode the F650GS, I liked the R1200GS more.

Someone traded this in for a BMW?

After our monthly scooter rally, I rode home, switched bikes, rode around on my SV and tested my new shaven and reupholstered seat. http://forum.svrider.com/showthread.php?t=102113&p=1555341

 

Rode around Cleveland -Akron Area today with some guys from Ohioriders.com and Chevellefan for here. It was a goo ride through some of the Park system I have never been through. Slow going but a good afternoon evening.

 

~120 mile group ride today. First real ride on the new wheels and tires. Haven't decided what I think, yet. Also, can't figure out why my front chicken strips are 1" wide and my rear are .25". I think it's been the other way around in the past. ???

 

Throttling through the turns? Pulls the front wheel up a little.

 

My first real ride ever, then got home and lifted the fuel tank just to see what was under there.

 

stared at it figuring out what color to paint, anodiza and powdercoat it.

 

Couldn't sleep last night so I stayed up and tweaked my suspension. It was WAY out of balance from front to rear. Tweaked the front mostly as I'm pretty satisfied with the way the rear is set up. It's a bit stiff but I haul my wife around from time to time so for now it stays as is.

 

Towed it 10 hours home

 

installed the pressure switch on the rear and ss brake lines on the front. about to go for a test ride and see if I bled them correctly - wish me luck ;D

 

Yesterday I installed my Tech Specs, did the TPS adjustment on the 06, and pulled the motor and swingarm on my 1st gen.

Put on two Ohioriders stickers. And watched it rain. Now it's nice but I am drinking beer.

picked her up from my parents, rode her home, then rode her to work

 

Washed and waxed the SV, lubed the chain and cleaned the wheels.

 

Crashed her on an on ramp....Hit a rock or some gravel and lost control of the front end. Think I was doing all of 45mph, bike lowsided off the road and cartwheeled. I rode my buddies Bandit 600 home, and he rode mine (it runs fine, damage is cosmetic)

Damage
Bike: Windshield, right mirror, fairings on the right side, frame slider, brake lever, rear brake pedal, entire tail section, and I dented my fuel tank (everything's pretty much just scratched or rashed save for a few things)
Me: Minor road rash, clothing is fubar, and my wallet is about to go bust repairing this baby lol (I do have insurance so I should be fine)

Did I mention following my crash we had to drive from bright sunny Florida to holy tropical storm Georgia? Needless to say my wounds, my pride, and my sense of karma got all f'ed up to day lol.

But at least I walked away and the bike runs

 

Mine got her annual bath. Even I have to admit that the rear wheel was starting to get pretty nasty.

 

The day started out great.
I went to Ihop at around 6:20, First one in, first meal made, AWESOME!

Then I went out for a ride around Rural S. Georgia, and N. Florida with my buddy and his Bandit 600. Besides the bugs, Gorgeous day! First long ride I had since my ACL surgery, It was great.

Then on our way back to Georgia I crashed....

On our way back we went through 10 miles of dense rain, visability was 20 feet or less, and when we got into town, we were wading through puddles that were up to our pegs....horrible day.

But Im alive, My bike runs, and im confident I can make it look even better then before.

had to get another new rear tire due to a nail. seccond one in less than a year. so pulled off and put back on rear wheel for the first time since i have owned the bike . had a dealer do it last time due to time restraints, learn more every day about the ol SV.

 

Just finished putting in my yosh pipe. That thing sounds so sweet

 

Took him to the beach. Got stuck. Found out that the kickstand 180 is possible in sand.
(tho difficult)

 

Bought some supplies: 5W oil for Intimator (sp?) installs, primer/paint/painter's tape for the seat cowl project, spacers and bolts for shock swap.

Then swung by my storage unit and picked up the springs/spacers for frick and some spare hardware. Hopefully I have a bolt that will work for the horn mount in the frame.
