What did you do to your SV today? (mods, farkles, maintenance, etc)

Got her RE-INSPECTED. Failed the first time for the following:

1. No horn
2. No mirrors (doh...)
3. Leaky fork seal

That's what they entered into the North Carolina database. I showed them that if you turn the key on, the horn works. The mirror could have been fixed on the spot with Cycle Gear right down the street, but the fork seals needed some work.

So, I ordered some seals, the driver (because i plan on doing this often) and some 10w and 15w fork oil (at the suggestion of Zoran). I replace the fork oil myself, put the stock mirrors back on, drive back to the dealer... passed! WOOT! Now I can get my license plate renewed. Shame they have all their systems connected now :(
I havent had my bike inspected since i got her back in 03....lol

wait they inspect these things?
only some states, but then even in mine they do, but i never take it. the bike i had b4 the SV, i took it in for an inspection, they honked the horn and made sure the the headlight worked......and that was a legit inspection, so i figure most dont have a clue what to look for on a bike, so why waste the money and time.

Same here until North Carolina linked their license plate renewals with the inspections. Just wait man, once your state gets enough money, they'll know everything about you and your bike!
gets enough money....hahahahahahahaha......lmao i live in wv, the dmv doesnt even accept credit cards yet, u still gotta pay with cash or check.

Finally hollowed out the header bolt hole. We tried torches and cobalt drill bits to no avail. Bought some diamond tipped dremel bits and got it done. The threads are in decent shape, surprisingly, but I might go one size higher or use a helicoil to make it perfect. I keep forgetting to remove exhaust bolts, studs, nuts, periodically to put more anti-seize compound on them or replace them. Oh well, now I'm installing the very quiet stock exhaust; it'll be weird!
stock.....stock......STOCK????? Have you gone mad.....lol

That's why I put little amber LEDs into the running lights, and left the turnsignals where they belong. You really can't see them, but I know they're there.
Signals ....what signals, i have no front indicators and only little indicators on the back on the Fender elim........besides unless its pitch dark cages done look at ur signals anyways...... thats just my opinion....flame away....lol

Boooooo. Just found out my brake rotor isn't bent.... the wheel is! I don't think there are any wheel straighteners here in Austin and shipping somewhere else and back would nullify the savings of just fixing it. Have a spare with my street tires on it so I installed that.
That sux, I need 2 new wheels unfortunately. Mine arent bent, theyre shredded....lol
