Just bought an 07 sv650 and found a toggle switch that cycles the throttle open then closed does anyone know why this would be installed

Well, that's a little strange. Can you describe exactly what happens when you flip that switch, with the bike's ignition switched on? Does the switch work with the engine running too?

I got to messing with it and turned it on while I was riding. And when I stopped the bike wouldn’t turn off with the kill switch key or kickstand it kills all the power but the bike stays running no lights or dash

Where does the switch connect to? What are the wire colors?

Given the operation, it makes more sense than it being some sort of diagnostic test switch…
